Just letting people know there is a new addition to the sidebar. No, the other sidebar. The one on the left. It’s a video welcome. It’s just a first try but I thought why not put it out there so you can all get an idea of the man behind the myth. I am a little nervous so excuse what most of it looks and sounds like. I am actually better spoken than this. Well I hope I am.

It’s nice to meet you in a more formal way. It’s an amazing video, and it’s wonderful to meet another southerner, even though I’ve been living in Alaska for the past 15 years. You can take the girl out of the south, but you can’t take the south out of the girl. 🙂 I feel so blessed that I found your blog, and I’m loving the weekly Haiku challenges, even though I’m struggling a little this week trying to finish one that I really like. 🙂

Thank you! I was a little not as relaxed as I normally am nor as crazy either. I plan to do some things with video again. Since this is for my personal blog I am okay with being crazy. Not gonna be crazy for LWI. Got plans for that as you know.

I am so happy to be part of your team. I added your new badge with a link back to the LWI site as a widget on my site. I hope to get more traffic to us too. Thanks again for the cool stuff you do for all of us. ❤

Well it’s great to finally meet the man and face behind Ronovan…I mean “Ronovanwrites.”
A great idea which I think is going to take off in a big way. Before you know it there will be video introductions everywhere. Why? Because it’s personal and it felt like you were just talking to me whereas, of course, we know you were talking to everyone.
I just love the way you come up with all these brilliant ideas.
P.S. I have a scarf that exact same colour 🙂

Thank you! I would like for it to have been better and I have been in a polo shirt but I decided to be relaxed and just go with it. That is pretty much how I blog. I don’t know how many times I recorded before getting one that I didn’t complete stumble through. Since I didn’t write down what I was going to say I kept messing up. 🙂

I think you did right by not reading from a script, Ron. It’s more personal that way and comes over that way as well. We’re getting the ‘real you’ and not you from what you have written down on a piece of paper which you will have edited, edited, edited…you get drift?
A polo shirt would have been nice, sure, but you look good and now I’m going to have to go and buy a whole new wardrobe if I’m going to make a video as well 🙂

Love the video! The little side notes made me smile, too! I could tell you were from the south…being from TX myself, I am always drawn to an accent!

I love seeing and hearing you. The more you talked the more you relaxed! You are so right the world is shrinking as we connect with other bloggers! Oh honey, I’d never know you were a Southern boy? LOL I’m I inspired to try a video too!

Well done you. I really enjoyed this and the accent thing made me laugh. if you think you’re accent is funny you should hear mine! I’m from Yorkshire, England, but my accent has all sorts of funny bits in it.
What a good way to share some of your personality with us.
You’ve inspired me and thanks. x

Great video and I just love those pop-up messages 😀 You’re so right, people from all over the world may have different religions, different problems, but all of us are very good friends in this blogosphere. There is a sense of camaraderie 🙂
Glad that I discovered your blog one fine morning…it feels nice to be a part of it 🙂

THANK YOU, RONOVAN! I almost felt as if I were seated across the table, having a cup of coffee and talking. Reminded me of being with David Janssen, just having a conversation. GREAT JOB!

First of all, why did you put it on the left if you knew I was immediately going to look to the right? lol
I love your video welcome! You sound just like I thought you would. (Since I’m from Chicago, I know all about people thinking you will sound a certain way based on location.)

Awesome video! Also Southern, also get accused of not sounding ‘all that southern’ 😉 Until I land in Canada. Then it’s all, “Why do you talk so slow, eh?” I have really enjoyed getting to know you through RW, keep up the amazing work!

I loved your video! Awesome job. Brilliant idea to put the side notes in as well. I read your blog regularly, but tend to lurk. I wish I knew more about haiku (not sure I can even spell it right.) But I love all your posts.
Thanks for putting yourself out there on the video,

Great video, Ronovan. Love this site. Your play on accents was fun, not a failure. I’m a yankee/midwesterner by birth and raising, but have been in the South most of my married life. I find the different inflections and dialects interesting, and sometimes amusing, but never to be made fun of. When I get around my best friend in North Carolina my accent changes to match hers. She’s a contagious Southern Christian. Happy people are contagious. We need more of this type of contagion. Keep passing it on.

Enjoyed your down to earth style. I had to smile about the accent. I was born in Louisiana & have lived all over the country. When I lived on Long Island, I did everything I could to lose the accent. I did learn to enunciate more clearly but the accent still lingered. It’s more prominent when I’m fatigued or angry. 🙂 Fortunately I don’t get angry a lot.
Hope to see more of your unscripted videos.

Thank you. 🙂 Yeah, I know, the Scot in me came out. I can’t hide the bróg. People just can’t believe I’m from the American Southeast.
