As I thought about this weeks words, that are more and more difficult to come up with ones I haven’t used before, I thought about my son coming to the end of his High School years. I think sometimes we felt the battles that a parent goes through to make certain their child gets the best education and understanding from a school is like a cave. It can be long, dark, and confusing. But you keep climbing to reach that light, knowing if you survive it’s well worth it. Then you kick them out in a dorm and say good luck. Not really, although he’s told me he wants to do like I did and life on my own for the last two years of university. His mother doesn’t know that so don’t say anything.

Then I thought about we, as parents, could have just caved to the the disfunction of a system only geared to one type of student. Zach is a classified gifted student that has been tracked since early middle or late elementary school by Duke University. Genius? I won’t tell you his IQ or SAT scores, but soon as the scores came out one of the best schools in the country got in touch. So we didn’t cave. We fought. We lived for 12 years of aggravation and headaches. And the light is there. Just 6 more weeks.

How to Write Haiku in English. And how to do a Pingback.

The Guidelines:

1. Take the two words and write a Haiku. I use Haiku in English (the link shows you how) as my style, which is 5 syllables for the first line, 7 for the second, and 5 for the third, but you can use what you like.
   • The link above has links on how to write Haibun and Tanka. You can also do the 3/5/3 form if you like instead of the 5/7/5 that I usually use. Write, share, and have fun. For syllable help,
   • For syllables for each word, and different definitions, you use the definition that works for you Haiku. You can also use SYNONYMS. Go to Thesaurus.com for synonym help.
2. Copy the link of your finished haiku URL and paste in a comment below so we can all go and visit your Haiku.
