Wherever I go,
I will never know
What it’s like to show
The badge of woe
Unless I join the flow
And enter . . . yes, enter . . . NaNoWriMo
~Ronovan
What have I done?
What have I gotten myself into?
Yes, true believers, Ronovan Writes has entered the . . . dun dun dun . . .
NaNoWriMo Zone!!!
(cue Twilight Zone music)
(now cue Lost in Space TV show music)
Several people had asked me about this odd sounding thing. Me? Where would I find the time? I am not really that good a writer. I call myself a hack. I can write short pieces. But a full novel? Then, here I am in the middle of a Fibro Flare and they catch me. I entered.
50,000 words in 30 days? A novel?
Why pray tell am I even mentioning this?
Because I may be scared scarce around here for a bit. You know me though, I’ll be here just as much, the idiot that I am. I just don’t know when to quit. I’ll be perhaps sharing my exploits in the NaNoWriMo Zone with all of you. Wish me luck and an increase in the dosage of my medications, I actually have an appointment tomorrow and very likely this will happen as they try to find a maintenance level. What good timing.
Me, doing NaNoWriMo. What have I gotten myself into?

YAY! I’ll be cheering you on Ron – you’ll walk those 1700 words a day. Sorry your Fibro is giving you pain though – it’s hard enough to write when you’re feeling fine.

Awesome! Misery loves company…..or maybe I should say- hey, we can cheer each other on! Maybe the all consuming pressure to write over 1600 words every day will help take your mind off your pain. (I’m telling myself that will work!!!)

I think you’re approaching NaNo with a lot of humor — the title of this post is great! You said you can write short pieces … how about looking at each day of writing a short piece of 1,667 words? That’s the plan I’m taking as I head into my first NaNo…

I’m a little more at ease than the piece shows. I wasn’t at first just because it was sort of a talked into thing. But now I’m okay with it and have a friend along the way with me. I have an idea for the novel so I at least have that. 🙂 Good luck to you!

Nice!! Good luck – it is a marathon (or 30 days of sprints) 🙂 I’ve kind of signed up (more to engage in the conversation and spectate on all the great writing advice). Looking forward to the updates – will be cheering you on!
