Help Me Be…
by: Ronovan
I heard you crying
I asked what for
You said it was nothing
As I headed for the door
I heard you sighing
Now I knew you were lying
So I turned around
And walked the floor
Why do you do that
Why can’t you just be real
I’m just a man
I inherently don’t know the deal
I want to know you
I want to be helped to grow
Just let me listen
By telling me what for
I heard you crying
I asked you what for
You said it was nothing
I ignored you to the core
Now I hold you
I listen to you breathing
No words are coming
But I know you are healing
Help me be a man
The only one I was meant to be
I don’t know what is keeping
Keeping me from being free
Thank you for the likes so far, but you’re being too encouraging. It’s a bit too simple for what I’ve seen posted on here lately.

I really liked this piece, the emotions come forth from the page…it flowed well from start to finish, and you really tied it all together with that last line 🙂 Wonderful!

Thank you. I tied my hands a bit with the rhyming but I hoped I was able to get the feeling across. Thank you for the comment and support. 🙂 I love your blog!

Thank you. I wrote this, I think last week. I have another if you could read called A Word Apart that I did a few days ago. I love your work and would like your opinion.

I would be honored to read it. But I must tell you that I like it already so my opinion may be just a tad biases. 😉

I am amazed at the simplicity and perfection of words. 🙂

Thank you! Men are simple. Women own the beautiful words. Such as a poem “Sealed with a Kiss”. I am envious of how women can do that with seeming ease. Hope you don’t mind a new Follower.
