What Social Media Really Can Cost a Person

I don’t normally just link to an article, but keeping in tradition with my Female Focused Friday, which I neglected last week because I didn’t want to put out garbage just to have it be something remotely female instead of quality female, read this article about Anne Hathaway and Hathahaters and what it cost her. I didn’t really have an opinion of her before, other than talented and a nice young lady, but after this I realized she’s just like everyone else as well.  A very short and to the point article.

  1. And with impressionable young children, I am acutely aware of the impact of social media on a person’s self esteem, self worth and identity. Good article, thanks 🙂

  2. Good article. I always liked Anne Hathaway (and I did not have a problem with her portrayal of Fantine in Les Mis), and think it’s a good reminder that we are all human. Being famous simply means you have more eyes on you, it doesn’t mean that they suddenly stop caring about what other people think of them. Some may even care more.

  3. What did these people do before they started hated people through social media. I would love to know the type. Are they the traditional ‘bullies’ or people who have been bullied and feel protected by their anonymity?
