Nice thought but I’ve found that self-forgiveness is elusive. Just when you think you’re past blaming yourself, up pops the guilt again!

It does take practice, sometimes a life time of it. Or in my case a Grade 3 concussion which wiped out my memory. But I don’t recommend that to anyone.
