Voting the RIGHT way.

Well, here we are in the United States looking at a Presidential election, once again, of who is the lesser evil. There is never that perfect candidate for any public office. If someone came along that fit exactly what I was looking for, I would question their honesty.

I imagine most people who have read my blog long enough know I am conservative. I put that as a lower case ‘c’ because I am very close to the line in many ways. No one party has all the right answers just as no one party has all the wrong ones. I believe people have a lot of rights and choices to make and I also believe for a great many of those choices the government should not be involved in nor should ever have been involved in.

I think candidates would be surprised at the support they would receive if they said exactly what they believed. I have voted by party in the past few elections because no one jumped out as a candidate I could get behind. The only one I’ve really liked always ends up having to drop out.

When faced with an election of voting for the lesser of evils . . . what do you do? Do you vote for an evil? Some may think my using the word evil is a bit strong, but if you sit down and look at what is good and what is bad, oops, some don’t like the word ‘bad’ either. There are bad things in the world. People do bad things. In a society in which certain things are taught as good or bad and the person chooses the bad, then they are doing bad.

By voting for the bad/evil, you are saying it’s okay to have an evil rule over you. People use the argument that they would rather have the more honest of the evils.

10 “Whoever can be trusted with very little can also be trusted with much, and whoever is dishonest with very little will also be dishonest with much. 11 So if you have not been trustworthy in handling worldly wealth, who will trust you with true riches? 12 And if you have not been trustworthy with someone else’s property, who will give you property of your own? (Luke 16)

Trump or Clinton, who will it be? Neither is a good fit. Both have major problems. Some wonder how Trump is doing so well. It’s because he is being blunt and saying what so many people think. Of course he then says what a lot of people don’t think as well. If anyone needs a teleprompter, it’s Trump. The citizens if the United States are tired of politicians who do nothing and go by party politics. That’s where Trump is succeeding. He is not a politician and he is making sense.

I am not a Trump guy. That makes the coming election very difficult for me. I am not a Trump guy and definitely not a Clinton guy. Do I vote for the lesser of evils or do a write in?

16 There are six things the Lord hates, seven that are detestable to him: 17 haughty eyes, a lying tongue, hands that shed innocent blood, 18 a heart that devises wicked schemes, feet that are quick to rush into evil, 19 a false witness who pours out lies and a person who stirs up conflict in the community. (Proverbs 6)

Some say writing in a candidate is throwing away your vote. I say by voting for exactly the best fit in all your categories, you are voting as you should. I didn’t vote for Trump in the primaries. He is not the person I selected to be my candidate for President. I did not for the electors of my state, thus, they do not represent my vote when they go to the convention to select the Republican candidate.

One thing that is influencing my vote is the number of celebrities that say if Trump becomes President they will leave the United States. Now there is a reason to vote Trump. I have a lot of thinking to do.

  1. I hate having to vote for the lesser of two evils. Hillary Clinton is non quite yet the Democratic nominee, but it looks likely. As much as I dislike Trump, I think both he and Bernie Sanders have pushed the corruption of our current political system into the light for all to see. That being said, I can’t imagine ever voting for Trump, even if the idea of getting some celebrities to move is very appealing. There are always Libertarian and other third party candidates to vote for. And we can write in a candidate if necessary. It’s better to vote your conscience than to not vote at all, or to vote for someone who is in conflict with your moral values.

  2. I don’t understand why it is that a high percentage of people say the country is going in the wrong direction, who complain because nothing is ever done – then, when given an option for a person who will probably change things, they resist to high heaven. I decided for Trump a long time back. He has embarrassed me with some of his crude language, but why would it bother people who talk like that all the time! I decided I wanted a negotiator rather than a person who does nothing if he doesn’t get his way or the guy who will just do it anyway – the executive order route. Trump causing division? The complaining “stick in the muds” won’t move. I got a hoot at Times “The Rise of a Rule Breaker.” The only thing astounding about Trump’s rise is it is the rise of a “Republican” rule breaker. Dear old Bill didn’t break any rules; no, he was just a terrific politician. And Hilliary, a rule breaker, of course not – she is just worth $680,000 for an hours talking to a foreign power, after all that’s what they offered. I’d better stop or write my own blog, huh?

  3. I am one who believes Trump is a narcissistic authoritarian who will become American’s Putin if given the Oval Office. I am no fan of Clinton, being a Sanders supporter, but I would vote for Cruz or Huckabee or Rand Paul in a heartbeat over Trump. It is like one of Indiana Republican District Representatives stated, the only way he would vote for Trump is if Satan was one vote away from the nomination.

  4. Unfortunately, Clinton has met all 6 of those evils. I agree that none of the candidates are perfect. I, too, would like watching a bunch of shallow celebrities march off to Vancouver and become Canada’s problem. That’s well worth voting for Trump. 🙂
