Bedrock – A Tanka poem.

when breaking down walls

passion’s a key to success

when breaking glass ceilings

never aim up for the roof

but down to diseased bedrock

    • Thanks. I thought of it when watching a home improvement show. You don’t drive a nail into the board by just hitting to the top of the nail, you have to drive through. So I put that to the current state of the nation, and am like, don’t worry about glass ceilings or even the foundations when the very bedrock is diseased and pitted. If it’s diseased then everything will cave in and kill whoever is inside trying to rise up above that glass ceiling. So it’s all stacked against them from the start. Thus, deal with the foundatio the very nation itself is built upon, where the evil comes from first before you ever put anything on top of it, kind of like building a house on a sinkhole.
Sheesh, you made me think about it more than I did when I wrote it.
