Thrills of Life – a poem.

Thrills of Life

nature thrills at life

none but man thrills at sadness

of natures lost life

https://www.worldwildlife.org/ (At one time I was a supervisor for the company that took membership calls for the World Wildlife Fund WWF which is what this is. The wrestling organization of WWF, now WWE, was sued to stop using the WWF moniker. Oddly we also sold the wrestling company’s merchandise. I had to take over a call and pretend to be the Macho Man Randy Savage by imitating his voice, which I wasn’t allowed to do but it was a Saturday and it was for a small child.)

I’m not endorsing an organization but the above is one place to start, although I can’t say where the donation money goes.

There are two documentaries on Netflix in America right now and they are both great: (I have a soft spot for gorillas and elephants.)

VIRUNGA is about a UN World Heritage park in Eastern Democratic Republic of Congo whose rangers fight to protect1/3 of the world’s wild mountain gorilla population.  Not only poachers are a problem but war and natural resource corporations want inside the park. This is unlike other documentaries on poaching I’ve seen.

GARDENERS OF EDEN is about a an orphan elephant rescue and wildlife rehabilitation program in Kenya. It was founded in 1977 by Dame Daphne Sheldrick to honor her late husband, David Sheldrick. It’s graphic and you see two sides of the elephant poaching story or rather three sides. The Sheldrick side, the vicious poacher side, and the local people side.
