Here in the South we have something called Blackberry Winter. It’s the cold snap late in spring while blackberries are in bloom. Not sure if they are in bloom right now but it sure is cold. But then again it is March. The problem is, in this region it’s 70 one day and 31 the next.

How to Write Haiku in English. And how to do a Pingback.
The Guidelines:
- Take the two words and write a Haiku. I use Haiku in English (the link shows you how) as my style, which is 5 syllables for the first line, 7 for the second, and 5 for the third, but you can use what you like.
- The link above has links on how to write Haibun and Tanka. You can also do the 3/5/3 form if you like instead of the 5/7/5 that I usually use. Write, share, and have fun. For syllable help,

Joyous Spring-The Shi Rensa
Spring, you’re the berries,
ecstatic, earth-splattered green,
bid winter, adieu.
Bid winter, adieu,
its frolic, folly, frozen
corpse of buried earth.
Corpse of buried earth,
what enigmas lay beneath,
what fossilized dreams?
What fossilized dreams
will we plunder, scrape earths flesh
in our search for warmth?
