You’re lucky! I haven’t read my issues yet, and I know there was an issue about five agents who were looking for new people. Guess I missed out. Maybe I should just buy their agent guide, what do you think?

You could, or just keep an eye out for the http://www.writersdigest.com/editor-blogs/guide-to-literary-agents
They put out new agents looking. And that doesn’t just mean novice agents. Sometimes it means agents moved agencies.

Great article!! My book isn’t even close to being completed, yet I get a rush of excitement reading this. I was published once in a children’s magazine (I’ve gotten away from children’s writing and I am now focusing on adult nonfiction) and have a general idea of the publishing process, but things have changed so much over the years. Its’ so sad to see the demand for actual books declining. I was hoping to use the computer for typing my manuscript and that was it. The blog was a way of getting me back into the habit of writing everyday. I had no idea it could/would be used as a part of my platform. This is going to be far more difficult than I imagined…

I read an article somewhere that paper isn’t going away like people fear. But with the advent of self publishing and the ease of it with ebooks, authors have to do a lot more to get noticed. An agent and publisher are still key unless you are just that good at the business side and have the time and money to put into it.
