Waves of Uninvited Sensation

Waves of icy fingers spread

Grasping for a hold

Slipping across the surface

Gone but returning twice cold

Waves flow undetected

Toward opalescent spheres

Through lightning flashes meander

And hysterical maniacal tears

Grasping with deflective talons

Not making the slightest defense

Staring into the nothingness

Losing all time and all sense

Waves of icy fingers spread

Spreading over the rippled mass

Holding onto the silent monsters

Shattering the quivering like warped glass

  1. I keep going to highlight lines but I cant decide which I love most. I think it is this part: Not making the slightest defense

    Staring into the nothingness

Losing all time and all sense

    Waves of icy fingers spread

    So lovely, and perfectly captured.

  2. This phrase caught my attention and would not let go: “Staring into the nothingness.” Somehow the words dictates an interesting image that can only come from a lifetime of pain. Really, this is a great phrase that I love and can relate to! Perfect!

    • Thank you. This was a stream of thought piece about something and some have given it meaning as they like, but you are the first one to grab hold of what it really is.
