Give Me a Photo Please!

Photos of women kissing men, draped over men, attacking men in sexual ways, or basically giving to the man. It doesn’t matter what type of photo I want to find on the internet, I’m going to come across photos 95% of the time that are men centric.

I’m sick of it.

Screaming Man

 Give Me a Photo Please!

“Oh, Ronovan, you know you like looking at those pictures.”

Don’t confuse me with the men in your life and men don’t confuse me with the filth in your minds. And no, I know not all men enjoy it.

To be honest, give me a photo of a woman from the shoulders up with beautiful eyes and smile and I am a very happy man.

I wrote a poem where I simply wanted an image where it was the man passionately kissing the woman. I wanted clothing on, and it being a deep romantic kiss. Romance and passion apparently mean naked and the woman doing the kissing of anything and everything.

I also wrote a poem where the man was being sensual to the woman. How many photos out of thousands do you think I found where the man was doing the sensualizing?

And man doesn’t kiss the woman passionately or romantically. I had to settle for a picture that was almost close. Nothing was close.

This goes along with a lot of how I see society today, man centric. Okay, so here is my take on the way it should be. Now hold onto your hats, seats or what your Momma gave you, because some of you won’t like it.

I’m about to go Amen on you.

God looked around after Adam named the animals. Remember that? Not a companion could be found for old Adam, well young Adam I suppose. So what did God do? God created woman.

Now here is my take on that creation. In the Bible you have to read around and see a few things to realize how beautiful the Garden in Eden was. God then created something that man would find more amazing and more beautiful and more desirable than anything else on earth. Yep, woman.

Some of you that read my various writings know my opinions about women. Now maybe you can understand it on another level. I admire women. I admire their beauty and their intellect. I especially admire those women with strength. If they have all three, a truly rare combination, The Triple Threat, I become speechless and am in awe.

AwwwwAww

No, awe! Grrr, anyway, now it doesn’t matter if I put in coffee cup I am going to find an image pop up that’s of a woman with the coffee cup, hopefully, placed in a strategic location. Trust me men, I love the female form as much as, if not more than the next guy, but I don’t like exploitation. Even in the photos I use I darken them and crop them to attempt an avoidance of such an act on my part.

No wonder the young girls, teens, twenties on up of the females have an image problem. And no wonder the same aged on the male side are turning into pigs and dogs at a younger and younger age.

Rant over.

Much Respect

Ronovan

  2. Hey Ronovan,
great post on the exploitation side of thing. Though I feel like people forget the other side of it. I’m against exploitation, but I’m against all of it.
We do see the naked female body everywhere (if I read between the lines, that’s what you were talking about 😉 ) and the reason why is that it’s what men are into: the female form in its many more-or-less undressed declinations.
Now, do you think we’d see naked men everywhere if naked dudes helped sell stuff to women? We definitely would. But the thing is that it doesn’t, so we don’t.
But what sells to women and usually gets them in the same state that men get in front of a naked women, is a well-dressed man, in a tuxedo or a suit. That’s what turns women on, that’s what’s used in advertising, that’s what we see everywhere.
Now, that’s also exploitation or rather I’d say objectification. Female are objectified as sexual objects and men, well, what that well-dressed guy symbolizes is money. So men are objectified as walking wallet.
I’m against both of these objectification. I just feel like the later is often overlooked.
    What says you?

    • You also have the men who are the bad boys in old jeans and t-shirts. I do see the sexploitation of both genders, but I think there is more of a realization that women find other things sexy than just looks and the wallet so to speak. A construction worker working hard women like, such as Lucky from the old Diet Coke commercials. I think it was the sex appeal combined with the sense of hard working/responsible character.

In general I would say get back to just showing real people, but commerce doesn’t want us to be real people, real people is an attainable, easy goal. They want us to want to be something above ourselves to buy their products. Often times this ‘above ourselves’ is not a reality goal in that even those portrayed as the goal pursuit in actually are touched up and spend lives in gyms and the like, which they get paid to do because of being sold as images.

I’m not sure if I accurately explained my thoughts, bit of a day for me, but I may have another article here. Actually ,I know I do.

      • Very true, Ronovan. I think advertisers and company that advertise should pay up a large portion of their revenue to a Therapy Fund that people could use to go see therapists to deal with all the disorders and general malaise pervasive commercials cause.

        • It would be interesting to see what would happen if advocates suddenly seriously joined together and lobbied Congress like those that went after the tobacco industry. You see a warning label on tobacco products. Perhaps they should have one on Advertisements including commercials stating “This commercial may cause eating disorders and emotional scarring and self image problems for life.”

Yes definitely another article, or two.

  3. This reminded me of my Auntie Beryl. Why? Well a few years ago, she wanted a recipe for a pudding we over here call ‘Spotted Dick’. It’s a great winter pudding served with hot custard. Being a ‘silver surfer’ she was rather a little shocked by the results she got back when looking for the recipe on Google.

  4. In addition, girls who’ve been violated often seek male attention inappropriately, setting them down a path of demoralization and disrespect for their own bodies.
