Inspired by I Have A Dream by Martin Luther King Jr.
Still Not Satisfied
A man once said he had a dream.
For this nation falters in stride,
every man resistant by pride.
A man held in so high esteem,
his end caused the earth to scream.
His beliefs inspire those denied,
judged by the color of their hide.
The waters still have not rolled free,
while the stream is far from mighty.
And still, he is not satisfied.

Very apt, after recent events by so called law informers. Very well written.💜

Thank you. I started out trying to write a humorous poem about dreams of success, that ended up with those dreams destroyed by governments, which then made it serious, then went to a young friends Instagram post of the recent events in Minnesota, which then led my mind to MLK Jr., and after about an hour after that decision, here we are.
Believe it or not, Grammarly had no problem with that sentence. 🙂

It is strange where the mind takes us. As for grammarly, you never can tell!

It’s almost as bad as Barnes & Noble. I tried to put my recent book review of a WWII Historical Fiction read up and they said I had profanity. Me? What?

Yeah, I revised and got red of black, Nazi, dictator, and other words just now, and it took it.

I was thinking Dr King would be turning over in his grave, weeping and kicking at the sod…it’s disgraceful what’s going on, sickening. And your poem is excellent, Ron ❤
