Today at 1:30 PM EST-Ronovan Writes on Tell Me A Story Radio!

It’s been a whole year since my last stop in with Annette Rochelle Aben on The Magic Happens network. Last time on her Internet BlogTalkRadio show, I had her Tell Me A Story. Yes, I turned it around and the guest was asking the host the questions. What will I do this time?

Last year I mentioned working on my debut novel. That novel is out and receiving amazing reviews. This year we’re talking about poetry. Why me? I wonder. She wonders how many odes to tacos I have? Little does she now.

Yes, I will be reading at least one poem.

Join me at 1:30 PM Eastern, that’s New York Time!

Annette watches the chat and speaks with those there so join in, say hi, and even throw her a question for me.

What will you ask me?

Could YOU make a choice between tacos and history? What about fresh fruit or writing? Let’s ask author, Ronovan Hester, my guest today on Tell Me a Story. Okay, so I’d rather talk to him about the topic of this month’s programs, National poetry Month. Of course we know him from his incredibly popular Weekly Writing Challenges (Haiku and Fiction) hosted on his blog as well as from one of his crowning achievements to date, the publishing of his first novel! Amber Wake: Gabriel Falling (co-authored with P.S. Bartlett) which recently received a 5-Star Review from (wtg you two). What you might NOT know, is that Ron is hard at work compiling a soon be released, book of poetry titled: My Loves. (I wonder how many odes to tacos are in it). So, tune into the show today and let’s hear all about Ronovan Writes Poetry, today on The Magic Happens Radio Network.

A Haiku Perspective-Annette Rochelle Aben

You know, it’s not often, if ever, you find yourself as part of a quote you can use by an author. And even rarer if you can find that in an actual book that is in print.

Annette Rochelle Aben Quote“If not for the prompting of Ronovan Hester and his
Weekly Haiku Challenges via his blog I
may not have fallen in love with writing Haiku. There is an entire section of this book filled with my offerings to some of these weekly challenges, for this is where it all started. Check out his blog, follow and receive the announcement each week of the challenge. I look forward to being inspired by what you write.”-Annette Rochelle Aben, A Haiku Perspective 2015

When Annette told me about this, actually phoned me, I was asleep. Fortunately I recognized the name Annette on my display, having been interviewed on her radio show before. To say I was surprised would be an understatement. You never know what something you do does for someone else.

My challenge planted a seed for a creative outlet for Annette, and her generosity for others in mentioning me gives me a push to keep going.

What makes this even more special is what this book does for others.

The Storybook Project of Iowa

This program allows for people to purchase a book and send it to a mother in an Iowa prison who then reads the book and records it for her children to hear her voice. The book and the recording are then sent to the child. Annette can tell you more about it and I believe she even offers a way to have the books autographed when they are sent to the women. You basically would send it to her and she would then send it onward. You can contact Annette for the full details.

Some people think of people in prison as criminals, but sometimes they are there because of situations. A mother wanting to read to her child is a sign of a wonderful character to me.

From Annette

“Here is an address if anyone wishes to send THEIR BOOKS directly to them. The Storybook Project of Iowa 1111 9th Ste 320 Des Moines, IA 50314 Attn: Tabby K. Originally, the project was geared toward authors who wrote children’s books, as many of these women have small children. However they did accept my books and found that some of the older children really appreciated them. So please author friends, gift these families one of your books, it will mean so much!”

A Haiku Perspective is a continuation of a project of Annette’s. Another of her works is called Perspective. You can visit her book page on her blog to learn more. And of course there is her Amazon Author page with all of her offerings.

Learn about her book and about being Positive. Helen Woo.

Being positive is something that’s contagious. One lady that is always positive is Annette Rochelle Aben, author and Radio Show personality. You might know Annette as being one of  the Global Voices of Social Media: 25 Women Share Stories of Strength, Love and Triumph currently ranked #5 on the Best Seller list but reached #1 in less than a day on Amazon. I bought it and reviewed in on Amazon already. Positivity is all through the book. I met Annette through various ways and was interviewed on one of her radio programs. Yes, one of them. She has two different shows. Actually three.

On Tuesday, February 3 I received my email notice that in 5 minutes her show was coming on and of course I logged in.

helen-wooHer guest was Helen Woo.

Talk about something that just made it all happen. Helen discussed her book Self-Aid: Inspiration to Turn Struggles Into Success. It’s all about the positive. A lot of what she said is exactly what I have been saying here the past few weeks. Of course she has a lot more to say. Check our her site, her book, and everything else she has to offer. Go to her link above and read about her. She’s got a great story to tell.

My Interview on Tell Me A Story With @YouAreTheExpert

Sometime ago I asked author and radio host Annette Rochelle Aben of The Magic Happens Magazine for an interview. Let me clarify that statement, I asked her if I could interview her for LitWorldInteviews. With how busy everything gets and how I never set deadlines for a person to return answers the interview hasn’t been published yet.

Now skip to about a month ago. I contact her about what kind of authors she liked to interview for her blogtalk radio program. My goal was to begin setting up a way to connect the authors I interview with Annette and create a richer overall experience for the author and combine my interview followed by Annette’s interview to perhaps create some buzz. So mine would create a chirp, hers would create the actual buzz. She’s that dynamic a personality. And it’s not just on radio.

The message I received back was basically “I’m booking February now, when can you be on?” Of course I had no thought of my being on her program. Next thing I know I’m on the phone with her and explaining what my purpose was in contacting her and she was fine with that but still wanted to interview me.

Then on Friday, February 6th I was interviewed live. Just so you know, the questions were not known before hand and I do believe you will be able to tell there was not a script. I even turned the tables on Annette and became the interviewer for a moment. Imagine that.

I took the opportunities I could to mention the names of some of my Blog World and friends where it was appropriate and not forced.

I was able to mention the Book Cover services of Chris Graham of The Story Reading Ape’s Blog and he does Book Trailers as well, Author Jo Robinson and her great LitWorldInterviews Features on Self-Publishing, Author and Proofreader/Editor Wendy Janes and how I would purchase her services if I ever had the money and the book to spend it on, and Author PS Bartlett and our co-authoring a book that will be part of her The Blue Diamond pirate world.

I only had 30 minutes so I did what I could. I do hope you listen to the show. Here is the link for you to go to at your leisure and it is also in the left-hand sidebar.
