About Clarence Holm…Haiku Challenge Poet Tribute.

Clarence Holm

Clarence Holm focuses his entries on family, friends and a little business. Clarence recently retired from a full-time position in marketing and sales for an insurance whole seller. His interests include writing about genealogy and the history surrounding it.

As an avowed couch potato, what little time he has off the pillows is devoted to a few hobbies including, computers, electronics, woodworking and day dreaming. He is married and the father of four daughters, all old enough to realize dad doesn’t have all the answers.

He is originally from Valley City, North Dakota where his parents tried (and failed) in farming. Luckily his parents did succeed in other careers including mechanics and teaching, allowing the family to move off the farm.

A college graduate with a firm grip on what he didn’t want to do; Clarence has managed electronic stores, restaurants, and security departments. In 1989, he joined his brother and established one of the first groups of independent insurance agent clusters. From that point on, Clarence has not done anything he considers work.

John Mark of The Artistic Christian  is the Inspirational Wordless Haiku of the week.

Dianne of Sweeter Than Honey as the Creative Wordless Haiku of the week. Dianne really does know how to use the images. We try to make out more than what’s there but when she reveals the answer you see she told you exactly what the words were the entire time. Very nice. So Nice I have to put her image here this week. Now you see why she’s so good at this. She’s pretty as a picture herself. (Sorry John Mark, you have to admit she’s prettier than you.)

I have to say that the First Weekly Wordless Haiku Challenge went fairly well. Those that participated did great jobs. They had a lot more fun with it and actually I believe did a better job than I did with mine. I’ll get better.

Site Addition: Haiku Challenges Guidelines page

The new Haiku poem challenges begin Monday morning at 00:01 EST or New York time.  In preparation of that I have a new

Haiku Challenges Guidelines

page that explains each challenge and displays the badge for each one. The badges were kindly created by DazzlingWhimsy.

THREE HAIKU CHALLENGES

The goal of the Challenges is to encourage creativity and fun. Also they are a way to give those with websites another idea for content when they are just in the burnout mode that we all go through.

A few things to know. If you participate, you get a badge, but please make it an honest attempt. Even the Decipher one you can copy the badge for trying.

There will be categories coming soon as the Challenges continue to help me choose who gets selected to be in the three differently Challenges’ weekly wrap ups. Those that are chosen are noted in a post and links are included back to their sites.

Enjoy the Challenges and most of all HAVE FUN!
