RonovanWrites Weekly #Haiku #Poetry Prompt Challenge #26 Empty&Bedlam

The 26th Haiku Prompt Challenge!

Badge provided by Me for this season.

Haiku Prompt Challenge Badge Winter

Haiku is simple and simply addictive. So be warned now. Once you start it’s difficult to stop. Here are two things to know:

  1. Haiku can be broken into two sentences with the middle line of the three lines being the commonly used part, meaning 1&2 and 2&3 making sentences. That’s Haiku.
  2. Opposite meanings in the first and last sentences. That’s Haiku.

For a full refresher or How to write Haiku in English click here. But you can use whatever Haiku style you want to. As long as you, do a Haiku.

For Tips and Guidelines refreshers click here.

If you have a Twitter and your handle has not appeared in a ReCap of a previous challenge, please let me know what it is so when I Tweet the ReCap on Sundays I may include it.

This weeks two words to use in some form, meaning you can use another word that means the same thing are:

Empty&Bedlam

The source of the prompts came as I closed my eyes and basically asked God for words. Nothing came to mind. “Empty”. I typed the word and closed my eyes again. There were noises everywhere and dozens of images bombarding my mind at once. “Bedlam”.

My Example

With an empty bed,

He sleeps little and smiles less,

With bedlam his Mind.

DEADLINE: Noon on Sunday New York Time.

(I hate doing deadlines, but it takes quite a while to complete the ReCap.)

There are TWO “A RONOVAN’S CHOICE!” recipients each week. One for Humor and one for something more Serious. The Haiku are quite good each week and I am having to turn to the structure guidelines of a Haiku at times to help determine my selection.

Really each Haiku is a choice of mine, and I’m not just saying that, so I feel a bit odd even having something called A RONOVAN’S CHOICE, but hey, it’s a thing, right? And it does make it kind of fun.

RonovanWrites Weekly #PhotoKu Challenge #25 Clouds&Shouting

photography_haiku_badge_autumn_2014

Welcome to PhotoKu!

#23

I am seriously excited about this new direction the challenge is taking. Some great people involved have made suggestions and I have listened. I have looked at the great photography of everyone and decided I limited people in what they could do. Then one suggested the name PhotoKu, or at least I think they did. Now one said why not give a verb and a noun as the challenge instead of two nouns. In all honesty I didn’t even realize I had started doing that.

The rules are simple: For how to write a Haiku in English and using the 5/7/5 syllable pattern click here. I know you will be using photography but you need to have the Haiku in words at some point.

I prefer no words or numbers of any kind to appear in the images you use. This includes sign language . . . of any kind. I believe this forces one to be more creative.

Below is my original example of how to do a haiku with images. People have become a lot more creative with using their photography. This is just to show you a basic layout and give you an idea of how things might look. Check out our previous participants to see how it’s really done.

Visit Blog it or Lose it and Through the Eye of Bastet to see how you might can do this.

Moon Shadow of a Woman Tango DancersHeartbeat Stumbling Sign Man Falling Men Going in a BuildingHands in Shape of Heart Two arms with infinity tattoos

This is an example of one I created.

The Haiku was:

Moon Shadow Dancers

Heartbeats Stumble, falling in

Love Infinity

I know, not the best but it was better then the first one I posted.

Here’s the challenge;

  • You create your own PhotoKu before Noon on the Sunday following the posting of this challenge,
  • Then either post a link in the comments here for everyone that visits to go see and/or ping back (copy the URL for this post into your Haiku post) to this post in your Haiku post.

I will read it and comment on it. Once I comment come get the badge.

The Prompt Words are:

Smile&Shine

What do the words mean to you, and how can you connect the two words through that second line?

RonovanWrites 24 #Haiku #Poetry Prompt Challenge ReCap

Haiku Prompt Challenge Badge Winter

24th Haiku Poetry Prompt Challenge ReCap!

To get into the ReCap write a Haiku and somehow let me know, either with a copy of your link in the comments or a ping back. A quick note, the ping backs don’t always work properly. I really want people to visit each of you so please be sure to copy your link in the comments.

  • Follow members of our community, especially if you are participating. Not only on blogs but on Twitter and elsewhere. Support each other.

The prompt words were Innocence & Life.

Two  A RONOVAN’S CHOICE! Haiku recipients are chosen each week. One for Humor and one for a more Serious tone. Proper structure may become a big decider at times. By structure I mean the 1&2 and 2&3 verses making sentences. But the message, as you all know is always what is more important to me in this challenge. The problem? There are so many great messages that I have to use something. So now, my job just has become more difficult. Let the games begin. May your days be long but your poems be short.

 New this Week!

Caseylove’s: Innocence in Question. I liked this because the photo used sets it up so nicely. I can just imagine this perfectly. From the about.me pageI have recently developed an interest in photography. I don’t know what has sparked this but the interest is there so I’m in pursuit of loving an appreciating this art.
I also have the love for writing although I’m far from perfect and I’m no Stephen King this is my passion as well.@caseyandjojo

sue vincent authorSue Vincent of Daily Echo: Frosted. A Haiku that takes one a few minutes to think about and come to a meaning for one’s self. I finally came to mine. Sue and I have been Twitter friends for a while now but haven’t really connected and I am so happy she participated this week. Now I must find a way to get one of her books. Being a historian myself, some of the books she has out are very appealing. (Anyone see me asking for an interview soon?) From her About Page-I am a Yorkshire born painter and writer, living in the south of England. I paint the strange things that come as images in dreams and fantasies and write about life as it happens.
I was raised in a spiritually eclectic family in a landscape where myths and legends were woven into the stones, and have always had an intimate relationship with the inner worlds and the understanding that all paths are but spokes on a wheel, leading ultimately to the same centre. It is not the path that one walks that matters, but how one chooses to walk it.- Check out her books at Amazon by clicking here.

maniparnaManiparna Sengupta Majumder of Scattered Thoughts: Anew. Love the message in this one. From maniparna2her Twitter BioA normal human being.Business woman.Occasional writer.Avid reader.Loves poetry, music, dance and good food.I had a difficult time deciding which photo to use. Her blog on the left or her Twitter on the right. Love those rocks in the Twitter photo. Also you need to go play with her pet on her blog. Awesome.

cindyCindy of Dreams in Alaska: Imprisoned by Ironies. Yes, that’s my title for this entry. It’s a message that one can apply to so many different situations of life. This last minute entry makes my decision for Serious Haiku much more difficult. Want to know where Cindy is from? Really? Seriously? I am so not going to answer that. From her About pageI’m a busy worker bee by day, while juggling the responsibilities of being a full-time student and aspiring writer by night. As a recent empty nester, I’m learning to enjoy the sounds of silence as I set my sites on the next chapter of life.

Who’s On First?
miraMira of They, You and Me: The Faint Hearted. A great commentary on the world. Very true and very sad. The poem is not a sad poem but once you begin reflecting on it you go places that might bring sadness. A must read to make you think.

Ruth of Mad Meandering Me: Peshawar. I support the message of the Haiku this week. It’s difficult to say you like something considering the subject. But things must be felt and let out. A said thing that this poem had a subject to be created.

T.A. Wyatt of Finale to an Entrance: Reality: The Beaten Down Haiku. It’s a shame that this poem is true. Remember to check out this author’s books at Amazon. @finaletoanEntranc

Elizabeth of Tea & Paper: Seasons. Hmm. Oh these reality messages. A couple of interpretations came to mind but I chose to go with the less somber one, well at least I think I did.

Deborah (AWomanSaved) of From Darkness to Light One Soul’s Journey: The Blossom’s Death. This one will have you thinking for a while.

Cyril Bussiere: Wander. Still wrapping my brain around this one.. Remember to check out this author’s books here at Amazon. @CyrilBussiere

Meredith and Martha of Meredith’s Musings: Two each from the two Literary Angels this week. Go quickly who wrote which. A fun game added to the challenge. I wonder if I should do that and see who wrote my Haiku. Hmm. @Meredithlbl

Kimberly of K.S. Fause: Blank Page. A writer’s nightmare. @KSFause

Florence of Rambling On: Beguiling. Read it and think. It’s one of those kinds. A lot of thinky pieces this week. @FTThum

Carolyn of Reviews & Recommendations: Hope in a Birth. I think the title I came up with for this one says it all. Go read it and see if I am right.

Canaf of Faithful Devotionals: Innocence Lost. Another good message. You should go and read the About page, a very interesting story to me. And I like this that I found on the site. “I Get by with a little help from my friends and a lot of help from God.”

Marigold of Versus Bulb: Innocence Lost, Imagination Gained.
Love the visual for certain. The Haiku is excellent with a great message.

Steven Walsky of Simplicity Lane: UnfulfilledYou know, I like this because  it was slightly outside the box from what I had seen so far. A definite must read. Remember to check out his books on Barnes & Noble by clicking here and Smashwords here.

Faith Unlocked: Innocence Restored. Very appropriate for the Holiday. Good definition for Innocence. I liked that for sure. Very good staying with theme of blog. @FaithUnlocked

Melissa of This, Right Now: Growth. You must read this one. Not only a great Haiku but visually the way it graduates is excellent. I love it when things turn out like that.

Nato of Chasing Life and Finding Dreams: Innocence of a Child. Hmm. Great structure. Good story. Sad ending. I think I might be depressed now. Things growing dim. Sigh. Wait, I felt like that before reading the Haiku. 🙂 Gotcha. @MichelleLunato

Colleen of Silver Threading: The First Queen. The name says it all. Well, maybe not all, you still need to go read to see exactly what it’s all about. I mean it’s not like the whole play is about a tragic death scene, right?  @ColleenChesebro

A RONOVAN’S CHOICE FOR HUMOR

Marigold of Versus Bulb: Innocence Lost, Imagination Gained.  A trip to a fall to a trip, oh bother, go see . . .

A RONOVAN’S CHOICE FOR SERIOUS

Faith Unlocked: Innocence Restored. It was very difficult this week but the message along with the holiday mad this one the winner.

I of course gave my own offering this week.  Time for Innocence.

23rd Haiku Poetry Prompt Challenge ReCap!

Just a reminder, all you had to do to get into the ReCap was write a Haiku and somehow let me know, either with a copy of your link in the comments or a ping back.

The prompt words were Breathe & Night.

Another reminder is to follow the members of our little community here on their sites and Twitter. Show and share the love, right? Are you following our friends here? I include links to their sites and Twitters if they have them.

Moving Forward there will be Two  A RONOVAN’S CHOICE! Haiku recipients each week. One for Humor and one for more Serious. It was brought to my attention that perhaps if I were giving it to everyone then why even bother. And in truth for those of you who remember I used to choose category recipients early on I suppose this makes sense. Proper structure may become a big decider at times. By structure I mean the 1&2 and 2&3 verses making sentences. But the message, as you all know is always what is more important to me in this challenge. The problem? There are so many great messages that I have to use something. So now, my job just got more difficult. Let the games begin. May your days be long but your poems be short.

 Two New this Week!

January’s Dreamer: When Christmas Comes. Nice Haiku with a great image to go with the words. Excellent. From the site About PageUntil that Day of resurrection when Christ Jesus returns,¹ a Christian is called to be as “a letter from Christ . . . written not with ink but with the Spirit of the living God, not on tablets of stone but on tablets of human hearts.”²

Like this site, I’m a work-in-progress, but by God’s grace, He’s still editing.

Crisisalive: Crisis. Great structure, message and atmosphere/imagery. From her About Page
I am a mother of 3 who is having a bit of a crisis in my life with my emotions…thought that I would work though some of my awkwardness here and hopefully have a moment of epiphany. I love to take photos, although I am not a pro, I do feel that they help me in ways I cannot describe.
My family just gave me my first “Real” camera which I must say, aside from my family, is the best gift I have ever received! Bear with me as I learn how to use it and hopefully capture whatever it is that I am searching for. It looks like it’s going to be a fun, enlightening experience! I welcome all of you to jump on for the ride and please share your thoughts and constructive criticism to help me on my journey!

The Stop Watch Award goes to . . . A NEW WINNER!

ksfause

Kimberly of K.S. Fause: Wink. Bit of a teasing title there. Thought we were getting a little flirtatious moment from Kimberly but alas I am sorry dear friends out there. You will have to continue to suffer. The winks are playful and flirtatious, just not from Kimberly. @KSFause

Carolyn_Injoy

Carolyn of Reviews & Recommendations: CAughT unware. On my LWI site I put out a three things I would buy for Christmas as an Author. On JensPenDen I put out  5 Free things for Authors for Christmas. Carolyn just gave me an idea for another one for the wish list for Authors.

T.A. Wyatt of Finale to an Entrance: Into the Void. Okay, my mind is tripping over this one. I so get it yet I am still like wrapping the brain around it. Remember to check out this author’s books at Amazon. @finaletoanEntranc

faithunlockedFaith Unlocked: The Long and Short of it. Surprisingly straightforward use of the prompts. Excellent in all aspects. @FaithUnlocked

Ruth

Ruth of Mad Meandering Me: Lost Soul. Very nice Haiku. A great message and structure. I am not sure why she wrote a Haiku about me, but still I can appreciate good work.

ksfause

Kimberly of K.S. Fause: Spirit. No surprise of a good offering with a very nice image. I could identify with this one. Good message. @KSFause

Becca

Becca of On Dragonfly Wings with Buttercup Tea: Kittens Belong. A very true story shared by our Becca. @rgbickerstaff

Florence 2

Florence of Rambling On: Searching. Yep, Florence gave one of those almost philosophicthal sounding Haiku. I get it, but will understand it in a few days. @FTThum

Steven WalSteven_S_Walskysky of Simplicity Lane: The Song. A very good thought of how to live life. One only Steve could come up with, or so I have noticed. Remember to check out his books on Barnes & Noble by clicking here and Smashwords here.

Colleen_Silver_Threading

Colleen of Silver Threading: Fairy Magic. Colleen wrote what at first appears something obvious but then you break it down into the 1&2 and 2&3 structure and it hits you in the face. My mouth dropped open at it because of the contrast.  @ColleenChesebro

KiwiBee2

KiwiBee of Snap Thoughts: Young Love, Free Rein and New Paths Yes, three Haiku this week. Love is in the air. But does it stay or does it go? Go and read, and you may know.

marigold

Marigold of Versus Bulb: Arms Wide Open
I think we all wish we could do this but for some of us ignorance is bliss. See so many would rather live wrong, than to ever find out where they truly belong.

Melissa

Melissa of This, Right Now: Mother to Child. Kind of a sad one but a must really. The photo in part made me almost cry thinking about it.

Elke

Elke of writingindevizes: Christmastime.  Okay, funny. After the first photo I just knew what was going to be next, I just knew it. Was I right? Go find out and hold your tree tight? Or maybe the cat might.

michelle_lunato_photographer.jpgMake sure to check this one out as the pingback went to a different blogger’s blog.

Michelle (Nato) of Chasing Life and Finding Dreams: Lover’s Passion. All I can say is in the words of Hugh  when he comes across a Haiku like this “Where is the bucket of ice water.” @MichelleLunato

MeredithsMusingsGo see! The pingback didn’t work this week for Meredith. WordPress has been doing a lot of revamping this week, as you may have noticed and I fear somethings have gone amiss. I went hunting just in case and I found HAIKU!

Meredith and Martha of Meredith’s Musings: Two each from the two Literary Angels this week. Great ones this week with seasons and pets. @Meredithlbl

RonovanWrites Weekly #Photography #Haiku Challenge #22 Spin&Wheels

photography_haiku_badge_autumn_2014

Welcome to PhotoKu!

#22

Here’s the challenge;

Spin & Wheels

What do the words mean to you, and how can you connect the two words through that second line?

RonovanWrites Weekly #Haiku #Poetry Prompt Challenge #22 Belong&Run

The 22nd Haiku Prompt Challenge!

Badge provided by Me for this season.

Haiku Prompt Challenge Badge Winter

Haiku is simple and simply addictive. So be warned now. Once you start it’s difficult to stop. Here are two things to know:

  1. Haiku can be broken into two sentences with the middle line of the three lines being the commonly used part, meaning 1&2 and 2&3 making sentences
  2. Opposite meanings in the first and last sentences.

Belong&Run

My Example

I Belong to you,

as tears belong to the Sea,

Mine run to your soul.

RonovanWrites 21 #Haiku #Poetry Prompt Challenge ReCap

haiku_prompt_badge_late_fall_2014

21st Haiku Poetry Prompt Challenge ReCap!

Just a reminder, all you had to do to get into the ReCap was write a Haiku and somehow let me know, either with a copy of your link in the comments or a ping back.

The prompt words were View & Revenge.

Another reminder is to follow the members of our little community here on their sites and Twitter. Show and share the love, right? Are you following our friends here? I include links to their sites and Twitters if they have them.

ronovans_choice

New this WEEK!

Melissa

Melissa of This, Right Now: From her about page: I find I need to write to determine what there is to say. Once written, an outline forms and then from within, the thesis emerges. Am I broken that my mind works in reverse? Bitter Pill. Whoa, talk about a serious intro into the challenge. Nice! (And no, she did that to the picture, not me.)

The Stop Watch Award goes to . . .A NEW WINNER!

t_a_wyatt_author

T.A. Wyatt of Finale to an Entrance: Blood Feud: A Revenge Haiku. Quick and threw down the gauntlet early. A Haiku speaking to so many possible aspects of society that it boggles the mind. Remember to check out this author’s books at Amazon. @finaletoanEntranc

MeredithsMusings

Meredith and Martha of Meredith’s Musings: We missed them during the holidays and I hated taking their name of the list. But they’re back with FIVE Haiku this week. Meredith brought us My Choice and Battle while Martha tried to make up for time missed with three this week; Seeking Peace, Living Well and Forgiveness. @meredithlbl

Ruth

Ruth of Mad Meandering Me: Hot Head. Very nice Haiku. A great message and structure. I am not sure why she wrote a Haiku about me, but still I can appreciate good work.

Kate2 - Copy

Kate of Dazzling Whimsy: Worthy.  Kate always has a great message. Speaks from the heart and doesn’t throw words out and see where they fall. (Don’t judge me!) @17KateLee

michelle_lunato_photographer.jpg

Michelle (Nato) of Chasing Life and Finding Dreams: Sweet View of Revenge. Whoa, humor or serious or serious humor. I so get the image of an ex being spoken of or like some seriously not nice person at least. Talk about message received. Dude.  MichelleLuantoPhotography. @MichelleLunato

Carolyn_Injoy

Carolyn of Reviews & Recommendations: Revenge Needed. I am not sure what she saw but I don’t want to be the one she saw it about. That’s all I’m saying.

Claudette

Claudette of to search and to find happiness in every day: View of Revenge. Okay, she got me. Here I thought needing sunglasses we were going to get to see a picture of her smiling or something. But nooooo.  And guess what? She has a second blog that joined in this week. If You’re Looking for Answers: Revenge. This one took me a couple or three reads to grasp it. I will claim it being 11 PM, a long day, and me just living in the life I do. Very much worth the while to take a gander at and let the brain cells mingle.

mira

Mira of To Wear A Rainbow: My Revenge. I find this one humorous in many ways. I get the message, but unless you have visited her blog or at least have visited her Twitter you will truly get the humor. Loved it.

Colleen_Silver_Threading

Colleen of Silver Threading: Leaf Bare Trees. Definite structure and humor here. At least it’s humor to me, although it is also real. I almost changed the title to Bare Naked, just to see Colleen blush but I like her too much. Apparently Hugh had some similar ideas when he was around 20. I am not sure what to make of his comments. A bare Hugh?  @ColleenChesebro

KiwiBee2

KiwiBee of Snap Thoughts: Seek to Change. Nice to have KiwiBee back in the fold again. Such a busy life. And she comes back in with a great Haiku. Of course, right?

marigold

Marigold of Versus Bulb: Are You Happy Now?
You know sometimes you really like a Haiku and you hate that you like it because the message just seems saw raw and painful. I may be reading it wrong or maybe I am reading it right for me.

Florence 2

Florence of Rambling On: Perspective. Sometimes I just don’t know. You know with any given life words take on meanings. But you never know for certain and you sometimes hope what you think you think isn’t what you should be thinking because then the thoughts would be not very good things to be thinking about, especially if you are thinking wrong and being thoughtless. @FTThum

 Angie

Angie of Angie Does Until She Doesn’t: Oh No You Di’nt. Okay, so that’s the name I came up for it. But you’ll see what I mean when you get there. @mrsreadmorbooks

Canaf

Canaf of Faithful Homesteader: Do Good. A good message. No doubt. I just noticed I said a good message about a Haiku titled Do Good. Wow. It’s just after midnight for me. I may have to stop soon.

cyril

Cyril of Cyril Bussiere: Oops. Urrr, umm, dude I so am not gonna even. You so wrong for that, man. Also check out Cyril’s Books on Amazon@CyrilBussiere

batteredwifeseekingbetterlife

BatteredWifeSeekingBetterLife: For My Beautiful Cousin. What do you say about some Haiku you read? You know I read this one and had one immediate thought and then a different one. You all know me, I can’t just have one thought about anything. I’ll say this but I want you all to go read, when broken down into two sentences as a Haiku should be, meaning lines 1&2 and then 2&3, this is actually a very positive outlook of a Haiku. Very impressive. This last minute entry makes for a much more difficult decision. @BWseekingBL

faithunlockedFaith Unlocked: Grace’s POV. The perfect POV to have in all things. One needs to keep many things in mind in all situations. Make certain to read this one and keep it handy. Print it and put it in your cubicle. @FaithUnlocked

A RONOVAN’S CHOICE FOR HUMOR

A RONOVAN’S CHOICE FOR SERIOUS

Two Haiku had similar messages but when it came down to it there was just something about  my interpretation of the two sentences formed by the Haiku For My Beautiful Cousin from Battered Wife seeking Better Life that hit me in many ways. A very powerful Haiku in my opinion.

You will fall to what you fight,

If you just view hate.

RonovanWrites Weekly #Haiku #Poetry Prompt Challenge #21 View&Revenge

The 20th Haiku Prompt Challenge!

Badge provided by Me for this season.

haiku_prompt_badge_late_fall_2014

For a refresher or how to write Haiku in English click here. But you can use whatever Haiku style you want to. As long as you, do a Haiku.

For Tips and Guidelines refreshers click here.

Something to keep in mind about a Haiku. Usually it is elemental in nature, but I don’t stick to that. There are two things I do like to see and they are; 1) Haiku that can be broken into two sentences with the middle line of the three lines being the commonly used part and 2) Opposite meanings in the first and last sentences.

Before you start!

I have links that will help you out. Remember for Haiku in English the total syllables are 5 for the first line, 7 for the second, and 5 for the last. I don’t really hold people to that for this but if you want to do it in the 5/7/5 manner, the traditional way, then try that. One link I have for you is . . . howmanysyllables.com. Simply type in the word and find out how many syllables it has. Also for synonyms and antonyms go to thesaurus.com, I find it useful for finding a word to fit the meaning when syllables are not working out right.

This weeks two words to use in some form, meaning you can use another word that means the same thing are:

View & Revenge

My Example

I TEAR AT MY CHEST,

FOR REVENGE AGAINST DEATH’S HEART,

I VIEW HER NO MORE.

Do you have a Twitter Handle? Do I know it? Let me know!

DEADLINE: Noon on Sunday New York Time.

(I hate doing deadlines, but it takes quite a while to complete the rewind.)

There are now things called “A RONOVAN’S CHOICE!” which simply means a Haiku that either touched me or was a stand out Haiku in structure and meaning. Really each Haiku is a choice of mine so I feel a bit odd even having something called A RONOVAN’S CHOICE, but hey, it’s a thing, right?

You might notice the new badge I created for A RONOVAN’S CHOICE! Haiku recipients. For those selected they can add this to their Haiku post if they like. It’s entirely up to them but I saw someone had created something to let people know they had received that selection and thought I should at least put forth the effort. I just never thought anyone would think that much of it.

New this WEEK!

Mira of They, You and Me: From her about page: “While writing my miraposts on toweararainbow.wordpress.com I realized that I had more to share. Life never ceases to amaze me, amuse me and play games with me. I think that all of us go through a lot in life  and when we go through it together it becomes easy to traverse the unknown paths. Lets join hands and minds to strive to inspire each other to love a happy life.” Love Hunt. A very sorrowful tone set and a message I think we can each relate to at some point in our lives.

But, nothing could have prepared me for the confusion and frustration that was ahead for me when my youngest child, Alex, was born with varied chronic problems. It is my intention to help you get through the web of insurance, hospitals and doctors so you can get down to your real job: Taking care of your child.   Cold Winds. Greatly enjoyed this one.

Very sensory filled Haiku. Both of the Aussie ladies receive A RONOVAN’S CHOICE! @FTThum

RonovanWrites #19 #Haiku #Poetry Prompt Challenge Rewind Truth&Deep

The 19th hole. It’s a golfing term basically meaning, the game is over and it’s time to celebrate. Okay, that’s my definition of it for today, tonight. But for our purposes it means  the . . .

19th Haiku Poetry Prompt Challenge Rewind!

The budget is still low for the celebratory offerings this week. Not sure if anyone needed an extra magazine for a flight to New York or markers to make a big sign at the Macy’s parade, but we’ll let it go for now.

Just a reminder, all you had to do to get into the Rewind was write a Haiku and somehow let me know, either with a copy of your link in the comments or a ping back.

The prompt words were Truth & Deep.

New this WEEK!

Pamela of countonwords: From her About page. “As I write there is a small release of what goes on inside my head: what powers it, disturbs it and distracts it. Cathartic and satisfying, there are few socially acceptable things that are as utterly addictive.” Her Haiku is, well she has three of the; Why Politicians Thrive, Truth is Difficult and A Deep Truth. The first two each qualify as A RONOVAN’S CHOICE! Speaking to the teacher in me of history and thus government and the second just speaking to me.

The Stop Watch Award goes to . . .A NEW WINNER!

A.C. of File Cabinet Ramblings: A Mystery. What’s it about? Well I’m not going to tell you. It’s a mystery! DUH!  You have to go look for yourself.  GEESH!

T.A. Wyatt of Finale to an Entrance: Inner Truth. First of all, the header photo. WARNING NEXT TIME! I am still freaking out. And I am not even afraid of the things. It’s just those eyes and the different colors and they stare at you. Oh, and the Haiku spoke to me quite a bit. A RONOVAN’S CHOICE! for that reason. Remember to check out this author’s books at Amazon. @finaletoanEntranc

Becca of On Dragonfly Wings with Buttercup Tea: Deep Truth. Appropriate title for a Haiku of such deep and delving like meaning. Deep and delving? Sounds like future prompt words to me. Check out her Haiku like apparently everyone else on the planet does. I want her number of likes! I’m not hating on her popularity at ALL!  @rgbickerstaff

Kimberly of K.S. Fause: Time. . @ksfause  I lost myself in this one a bit. A RONOVAN’S CHOICE! You can check her comments for my lost words.

Cyril of Cyril Bussiere: Truth. A good message with different meanings. I like a poem that can have a meaning that sometimes isn’t how intended or is but others think of it a different way. Also check out Cyril’s Books on Amazon@CyrilBussiere

Michelle (Nato) Lunato of Chasing Life and Finding Dreams: Deep Truths Untold. Well, I got wordy in my comment on her site, and thinky. You know that’s never a good thing. But her Haiku this week made me think a bit about something I actually recently wrote about on my Christian blog. @michellelunato

Colleen of Silver Threading: The Deepest of Truths. I think perhaps a story told about more than the subject used for the Haiku. Excellent form used as well. A RONOVAN’S CHOICE! @ColleenChesebro

Claudette of to search and to find happiness in every day: Deep Truth. A somewhat sad but true Haiku, at least to me. A RONOVAN’S CHOICE!

Claudette also has if you’re looking for answers: Truth in the Deep.

Meredith’s Musings and the Angels Meredith and Martha: I chose to name the Angels’ offerings this week in a combined Fiath of a Child. And I need to come up with happier prompts for Meredith to get  her perky on. @meredithlbl

Canaf of Faithful Homesteader: You Can’t Handle My Truth. I really enjoyed the thinkyness of this one in that I believe I have thought in a way some didn’t. Imagine that, I had strange thoughts. So unusual for me. A RONOVAN’S CHOICE!

Florence of Rambling On: Confrontations. A Haiku of self and the search of finding the truth of who and what you are, I think. But with her I am probably wrong. And if I am right she’ll tell me I am wrong just to make me think about it. @FTThum

Hugh of Hugh’s Views & News: Angel of my Heart After all the great comments on his Haiku I suppose he has to be A RONOVAN’S CHOICE! @RobertHughes05

Marigold of Versus Bulb: You Don’t Have To. A festive type image, I think. At least that’s what I took away from it. Very good message.  A must read. Click on the image to see it large sized. A RONOVAN’S CHOICE! .

Steven S. Walsky of Simplicity Lane: dig deep. I enjoyed the way the image and message were put together, the layout. Very much a image thing to send around to people.  A RONOVAN’S CHOICE! Just a reminder of to check out Steven’s books at Barnes & Nobles as well as other sites noted on his blog such as Smashwords.

Carolyn of Reviews & Recommendations: Deep truth. She even rhymed it. Now that’s something in and of itself.

Faith Unlocked: Jesus Is My Lord and . Do I really have to say good message? I didn’t think so. Go read ’em.  @FaithUnlocked

Kate of Dazzling WhimsyUnsure My Dear. No, she’s not talking to me. I asked. A RONOVAN’S CHOICE! @17katelee

I of course gave my own offering up this week. Although I put forth an example each week with the challenge I feel as though I need to also put out another, this one I called Truth buried deep within. This was more of a series of Haiku in story form. It is called Renga. I haven’t delved into a challenge for that but you can use that if you wish for the Haiku Prompt Challenge.

The closing Haiku for this weeks Challenge words?

I hold memories

Of a love long drempt about,

I long for deeply.

Much Respect

Ronovan

RonovanWrites Weekly #Photography #Haiku Challenge #20 Table&Giving

photography_haiku_badge_autumn_2014

Welcome to PhotoKu!

#20

Here’s the challenge;

Table & Giving

The inspiration for the words this week is from it being Thanksgiving here in the United States. I didn’t want anyone to think I had gone off the deep end with these words.

What do the words mean to you, and how can you connect the two words through that second line?
