It’s
Sunday inspired the words this week, again. I was attempting to write my Sunday Thought late Saturday evening into early Sunday morning and nothing was coming. Rather than force it, I shut everything down and waited. When I woke up the next morning, well actually the same morning, the thought was there. Patience. I had waited rather than force it.
One quick thing. I have noticed in my social network travels that we aren’t following each other on Twitter. I follow everyone I have a Twitter Handle for. Every one, follow our Haiku friends. You have a Twitter but I don’t have it? Just type it in the comments when you paste your link. One way I find Twitter Handles is when I click on your Haiku, I click the Twitter share button and get the handle from there. Your handle doesn’t show there? Click here to find out how to have it show up there. You know. I have a how-to article for just about everything. If not? Ask and I’ll write one.

Have you never ventured into our haiventure? “Hiaku, adventure? Haiventure? Yeah, I make up words. Just not for the purpose of the Haiku. Hmm, although that gives me an idea for next weeks Haiku Challenge. One thing I want to explain is about pingbacks.
A ping back is when you place the URL from the address bar of this page into the post you write your Haiku on. You also have to make certain the link is actually in there by clicking on the add link button which is next to the right alignment button. To me the add link button kind of looks like a paper clip. It’s the fifth from the right in the WordPress post editor. Read below for a couple or few more things that will help.
Then simply put a link to your Haiku in the comments of this Post and I’ll go look, as will others. The link is the URL. You can also do a PingBack. That’s when you put the URL of this post in your post. Don’t know how to do a Pingback. Click here to find out how.
The Deadline is Sunday by Noon, EST, or New York Time to people like me that just have no clue about time zones.
Haiku is simple and simply addictive. So be warned now. Once you start it’s difficult to stop. Here are two things to know:

My Haiku offering this week was Free Me To Death. Not a well received one this week, but I’m okay with that. The great thing about Haiku is meanings are sometimes hidden in so few words that the obvious is often times mistaken for the true.

Two words created to inspire creativity. For some it pulls out of them a positive and uplifting experience as they tap into either a fun and joyful memory or moment. For others it may be the complete opposite. That is the magic of words. You never know for certain what will be brought to the mind, even to the mind of the one creating the words. Or perhaps for some there is no surprise where this lost mind travels.

Week 29 for the Weekly Haiku Prompt Challenge had the prompt word of Fret & Chill. So many definitions could have been used for these two words. Let’s find who participated and then you can find out what they did with them.
Melissa of The Aran Artisan – This might be extra long because she called me a debonair wordsmith. A lady of Maine her Irishman adores her. Thus, she moved it Ireland and the Aran Islands. Even with the Red Sox shirt on I saw the motherland in him and oddly I see it in her as well. So let’s see what she has to say for herself.
“My idealism is expressed in my tagline “Making a living by creating every aspect and ingredient of daily life.” These are the words of a friend who used them to describe my family. Ya, it’s a bit of an exaggeration, but I like it anyway.
Me, my husband Johnny, and our five children make up our family
. We have one dog, three cats, five ducks, twelve chickens, a hamster, a goldfish, and a dozen or so goats that share a nice life with us.
p.s. I wrote about how the move from America onto the Aran Islands came to be in my post I live in Aran.” Her Haiku this week is called, well I will be naming it. Let’s seem, hmm, Well Worn Heart. You have to see the image that inspired this Haiku and I think you will get why I chose the name. Now go give Melissa a warm welcome to the family! And for sure read her I live in Aran page. She needs to write a book based on this telling of how she got to Aran. And her writing style is wonderful. @thearanartisan

My plan for the week was, let me actually rephrase that, I wasn’t going to write a Haiku this week. In fact there was no plan for poetry at all in my foreseeable future. It’s not that I have given it up or don’t like poetry, it’s just something I am not feeling right now. I’m not a poetry mill. I’ve been there and done that.
Writing poetry, at least for me is about tapping into an honest place and sharing honest things that can be tender places in the heart that shouldn’t be touched. Even when I write a funny poem it doesn’t begin that way. It begins serious and turns humorous out of defense. Defending the tender places.
Some reading this are likely about to hurl. They don’t see how poetry is that big of a deal or how it can really be any more than a few words to rhyme about puppies, clouds and rainbows. True, some poetry is about those things, for that writer. Perhaps those things have meanings for them. I don’t know where the inspiration came from so I can’t say good or bad.
However, even though poetry was not in the heart for me this week, which is a requirement, even though I didn’t want to go there a friend expressed a hope I would write something for the challenge I host each week. How could I not write something when so many faithfully participate each week?
Do not fret, my heart,
While you beat slowly for now,
The chill of loss fades.

The end of Week 28 of of the Weekly Haiku Poetry Prompt Challenge and I made it an interesting one this week. The words Pop and Fail were chosen initially based on a thought about Pop Culture and the failure of society in so many areas. But even I went crazy with the words once they were in black on that white screen.
Thank you to those who complimented the new challenge badge. I personally like how the background took on a foil like appearance.

you wouldn’t believe me and her life makes me feel so inadequate that I think I may be depressed for a month just from the lack of life experience next to her. Meredith and Martha of Meredith’s Musings: We have Four this week as usual; Discipline and Splendor and then Grandpa and Surprise. Very telling Haiku this week from our Lit Queens. Surprise so makes sense to me and is a duh moment for whoever created those things. Grandpa I believe tells the story of a lot of Grandpa characteristics. A lot in so few lines. Just goes to show you how much you can do with so few words. @Meredithlbl

Cyril of Cyril Bussiere: Cyril said this would be a lighthearted one this week. I haven’t clicked it yet. So let’s go find out. Okay, I think he meant lightheaded one. I could be wrong, but I think lightheaded works. So I’m going to call it the Lightheaded Lighthearted Haiku. Have you checked out any of Cyril’s books at Amazon yet? No? Then click here to do so. Nato of Chasing Life and Finding Dreams freaked me out with her new Header Photo on her blog. I mean it is totally cool because you get a couple of ideas at first. But yeah, freaked me out not expecting it. Of course she will say it’s been there this entire time. I will then use my amnesia as an excuse. ACE IN THE HOLE! Oh yeah, her Haiku. Lost Words, kind of like what I did there. I kind of lost my way with the words. Oh how these people try to appeal to the writer in me with their Haiku aimed at my failure! I say to thee nay! Nay! Kimberly of K.S. Fause: Colors. First of all before I go any further, I want to give credit to Kimberly for really bringing the image aspect to this challenge. Yes, images were being used but once she came along it became a whole new game. She made the rest of us really work on our skills. Now for her Haiku? Last week I asked about the image and the history of it. This week, she gave us the history of what she used and the inspiration for her Haiku. Kimberly has kicked it up again. Kimberly of K.S. Fause: Colors. This was an easy one for me this week not because the Haiku blew all others away. Several were just as good. I want to say that now. It is that Kimberly stepped up the game a bit with her offering this week and the meaning of it all. I think when you go and look at what she did you will agree. Much Admiration to her for his one.
The Humor Haiku this week may have been the toughest one ever since the Challenge began. I finally narrowed it down to two. There was one that had a social commentary reference that I am drawn to and then another that was more subtle in the humor which is a difficult thing to accomplish. Since I no longer want to take the easy way out and have ties this week’s Humor Haiku is Kale by Elizabeth of Tea & Paper.
My Haiku offerings this week were Pop Fail and Night Fails Me Again. When you write something you do so with a meaning. However, as I have said several time before a Haiku can have several meanings. Little did I know so would mine.

Words picked at random end up evoking thoughts and imaginings that you never considered. Potential humor, societal commentary but love and desire? Those words never came to mind when I chose the prompts for the week. But then this is me. This is my mind and my imaginings and regardless of what may be the spark, the fire always seems to rage in the same direction, across the same landscape of the mind.
This was written for a special reason as I was thinking of something and the words wrote themselves. Though they did not end up in the home where they were written I wanted to share them as I thought they needed to be shared. I do hope you enjoy.

Yes, the image has changed. At least it has for this week. I am playing around a little with different things and kind of liked this for the moment. Use whichever you like though.
Yes, dear hearts, we are gathered here today to celebrate this thing called life. And as a part of that celebration I wish to impart upon you a massive headache the size of the country with no borders far to the south, yes, Straya. With that in mind I give the words of which you seek.
My Example
The prompt words were inspired by randomness but I know where they came from but where do they take you? As for the Haiku? An old rhyme and how my head feels a great deal of the time. Sometimes there is an elephant with a mallet thought. But elephant didn’t fit the Haiku or the syllables.
Is this your first time visiting our humble cabode, community abode that is? Read on and you will find the details of things like how to submit, the Haiku, not yourself, and when the deadline is. Don’t worry, I am not always this insane but a boy’s just gotta have fun. Don’t make my go Lauper on you. Sad to say some might not get that joke music reference.
The Deadline is Sunday by Noon, EST, or New York Time to people like me that just have no clue about time zones.

Florence of Rambling On gives from her super brain the Haiku Enchained Joy. I read this Haiku probably at least three times this week. I read the Haiku from each person several times. Surprised, huh? Well, not until this time did I really notice that last line and how it is ironic in a way and an oxymoron in another. Well that is unless there is something about Florence we don’t know about. Just saying. Oh, on a side note; Slap me if you see me using ‘Just Saying’ any longer after the upcoming week. Tried to write a thought for today. Was interrupted too much to do so. Every time I began, and I mean every single time I actually tried to type a thought, I was interrupted.
So that’s what you call an old fashioned blog entry. I hope you have a great day and have a better chance at writing then I have had.

Disabled, Disgruntled and Disenchanted-The WordPress Stats Page I had been suffering through the changes to the Stats page but had been kind of making do with being able to click to the link near the top of the new page to go to the old page. Then this week happened.
Tips to Increase Followers and Views. Some ideas that I have been thinking of that are a bit outside the normal way of seeing things. But then that’s kind of how I am.
The continuation of disenchantment. Well, I think you might get where this is going by the title. Yeah, another change that is just making it more and more difficult for me to fight my way to get past the 24/7 migraines and everything else. Just imagine having a migraine every second of your life and showing up and your blog world is more frustrating when it has no reason to be.
