What is this Beauty?

My offering on Dazzling Whimsy’s site today. I can sympathize with a teacher starting a new year, so helping as I can.

Blossom - Copy

There is beauty in the unknown

But there is also danger

What is this that I have found

I should know you but you are a stranger

Your brilliance brought me to a stop

And I had to have you for my own

But I dare not touch you lest I be locked

But memento of our tryst to be shown

Now I long to know who you are

I share your beauty with others

For I cannot go another day

Or else my heart smothers

Yes a bit of my own photography. (Scary I know, and not good, but I love this photo. It was taken on an outing with my son ‘B’.)

High above the world.

I helped out a friend today as she is overloaded with real world life. Teacher, Mother, and so many other things. Her photography in My Home state atop the mountain that I used for my Perseverance photo last week. So her photo and my Haiku. Please visit her and follower her. She has amazing photography! I kid you not. (I’ve never typed that phrase before. Kinda weird.)

High above the world,

My heart soars with a beauty,

Everlasting love.

by Ronovan

Helping out today, I was given this photograph as inspiration. Kate picked it intentionally as it is one of her daughters standing atop Stone Mountain, oddly enough the subject of my wordless Wednesday photograph. To achieve the quality of shot Kate did here considering the haze one can obviously get from the atmosphere is exceptional. The richness of the coloring of her daughter is amazing. I know the rock that girl is standing on. These days I wouldn’t do it, but then again she is the one that was a flyer for competitive cheer for most her life.

My Haiku was an easy one to write when you take everything into account. You have a mother taking a photograph of her daughter high above the world. It took me only a very few moments to write…

Southern Magnolia

Some women of the South are called Southern Magnolias

Their smiles are more dazzling than any snow

Foliage gathers round them setting off smiles

All working together to make all the men to desire to know

This is outside of a local university’s student center. The straight lines are a bit everywhere. I’m not a real photographer but I really liked this shot. So I thought I would include it in Cee’s Fun Foto Challenge-Straight Lines.

Vanishing Line

I often talk about Following for Inspiration. Writers this photo is what I’m talking about. You know you’ve tried to write of a scene like this before and just couldn’t capture it. Photographers can be our best resources. This is amazing. I blew my mind when I saw it. It could be now, another time, noir, or even another planet. Follow this man.

Connections to my Past

Wow. Less than a week blogging and she puts a photo like this out? And she grew it from a generations old bulbs? Whoa! And there is more to come from what I understand. Click her and Follow her. Wow!

Connections to my Past

These irises have been in my family for generations. Lovingly cared for and nurtured. As they have grown in size over the years they have been split and shared. One bulb has turned into many to be enjoyed by all. When I see this flower, I see my aunt and my father from a time long ago in their gardens teaching me to surround myself with beauty. I see my Pap Pap and the lessons he has taught me. The Earth is a gift from God to nourish our souls if we take a moment, get a little dirty, and spend time together in the garden.

Friday’s Follow For Inspiration

These are some photography sites that I follow that have great photos to give you inspiration and help when just needing that visual help you might need in your writing. There are more but I unfortunately cannot remember them at the moment and failed to write them down in my notebook.

Feline Fridays: Meet Spunky

My little white tiger.Spunky

by: Ronovan

This is Spunky. You can’t see it from this picture taken with a phone, but he has blue eyes and tan stripes up his sides. I call him my little white tiger. You may have seen him before in a picture with his twin, who actually has rounder eyes, and their fluffy dark tortoise haired sibling.

Spunky is the sociable one. Each morning I quickly finish my breakfast then sit on the back steps and he and I talk. It took a while for him to find his voice. He would open his mouth and I knew he wanted some attention. Now he speaks, but he has a great voice, just like his mother, Kitty. You’ve met Kitty before.

Spunky loves to be petted and will lay in your arms and let you love on him. That’s what I like about cats. They are honest creatures. They don’t return affection just because you give it, they do it because they want to.

Whenever I need a pick me up or a laugh, Spunky is available.

I know this isn’t a normal article but Spunky is an amazing little guy and deserved some web presence.

Much Love, Respect, Admiration, and Gratitude to all those who Follow and and inspire me,

Ronovan
