Nonsense and Such: The Animal Minded or None-A Poem? (Throwback Thursday)

Lost Man in Chair

Nonsense and Such: The Animal Minded or None

by: Ronovan

I never saw the flight of a turtle dove

Its shell must weigh so much

But when the howler monkey screeches

Why does he choose to say it such

And how much tross could an abla tross

If an abla could tross tross

The truth of the matter is so simple

You determine it by a coin toss

Where does the rilla go

When he must be somewhere

Wherever it must be

He will go in his suit of hair

What does the snake wear with its rattle

When it attends a formal function

Whatever it is it must be secure

Lest there be a wardrobe malfunction

And how will the old coot bandi about

When the season does change

Most likely find another place

But still in down under range

Some may wonder what has happened

To the mind of this odd man

I will explain to you someday

When I can catch it with my hand

Wasted (A Poem)

Here I am
Sittin’ again
Lookin’ back on where I’ve
Been.

Wasted Mmmm
I’m Wasted
Without you
Without you

Soft pink lips
Dark smoke eyes
Callin’ my name
‘Cross turquoise skies

Southwest winds
Shoutin’ come on friend
I don’t know where you’ve
Been

Wasted Mmmm
I’m Wasted
Without you
Without you

Takin’ a trip
Through a desperate mind
Seems so close
But like ten thousand miles

Tastin’ your heaven
Your velvet peach skin
Never had it once
Can’t wait for it again

Wasted Mmmm
I’m Wasted
Without you
Without you

A poem I found that I apparently wrote last week. Was on my computer with a date of last Tuesday. You guys know me, I forget things, but thought I would share it. Not sure about it though.

Ronovan Writes Weekly Haiku Challenge 37 – Foul & Sweet

I am sOOOOoooooOOoo happy to have Ritu join in. So much support in visiting my blog. Make sure to go and give a big welcome and click like. I am truly, truly happy.

Episode 243 : Ronovan Writes Weekly Haiku Poetry Prompt Challenge ‘Foul’ & ‘Sweet’

NEW POET ALERT!!!!
Thanks to Hugh we have a new lady joining this week and she nailed it perfect the first time out. Awesome! Go and say hello and like her Haiku on her site!

Judy E Martin's avatarEdwina's Episodes

After a lovely conversation with Hugh last night, he mentioned that he participated in Ronovan’s Weekly Haiku Challenge and encouraged me to have a go. Now I know what a Haiku is, kind of, but have never, ever had a go at writing one. However, I normally like to have a go at something new, so am happy to try my hand at a Haiku!

The ‘prompt words’ are ‘foul’ and ‘sweet’

His breath was so foul

after eating some garlic

He wanted a sweet.

Strawberries and Flowers

Nice. Two for one from Lolita this week. That first I get perfectly, but man, that second one. Guys, you know you gotta love that.

Special thanks to Ronovan, who after being sick and having not such a great week, still fulfilled his blogations and posted this week’s Haiku Challenge right on time. And I, for one, am glad he did.  You don’t have to be into writing poetry to be into his blog.  He’s got a lot more going on than haiku.  Definitely check it out.

Although new prompts are posted every Monday, I usually take a day or two or seven and let the words marinate before I commit to my haiku.  This week’s words seemed to have so much flavor that I was able to get out two, haiku.

My entry for this week’s

Haiku #1
Her beacon of hope,
Contemplating the next move,

Beacon bacon

First entry for this week’s Haiku Challenge comes from Dr. KO. I think you will all enjoy the different way she goes about this. Will I say ouch this time? Will Ron O’van comment with some type of Haikumment? You just never know, do you? And she’s gets bonus points this week as well. 🙂

I am really enjoying RonovanWrites‘s weekly Haiku prompt challenge. Also he made me laugh here at the “ow” comment. Thank you for making me laugh! The problems are that I have trouble spellin Ronovan (I want to put the o at the end and the a in the middle) and is the apostrophe in the correct place? These are things to ponder. Today’s prompt is Field and beacon. I have been rereading Walt Kelly’s Pogo comics, wordplay and spellingplay all over the place. He makes up words or combines word or misspells words on poipoise. It is wonderful play. So the first word that comes to my mind with field and beacon is, of course, bacon. Wasn’t that true for you? And bacon sparks a whole other train of thought. My brain is like one of those old fashioned train stations, where the engine was place on the central…

Baby, I bleed you.

I say I believe you
You believe me too
I am a liar
A
Petrifier

You’ve done left me
I can’t leave you
Hangin’ on doorsteps
Dreamin’ of when we met
I can’t
Forget
You need too

Why oh why, why oh why
Why oh why, do I need you
Why oh why, why oh why
Why oh why, baby, I bleed you
Why oh why, why oh why
Why oh why, do I need you
Why oh why, why oh why
Why oh why, baby, I bleed you

Fakin’ on Sundays
Prayin’ for me days
I can’t say
It’s
Okay

Sweatin’ like July
Wonderin’ Lord oh why
Does this pain
Keep, thrillin’ me
I want it
It to be
You’re forgettin’ me

Why oh why, why oh why
Why oh why, do I need you
Why oh why, why oh why
Why oh why, baby, I bleed you
Why oh why, why oh why
Why oh why, do I need you
Why oh why, why oh why
Why oh why, baby, I bleed you

I found this scheduled for today. I don’t remember writing it but I looked and found it on my computer from about a week ago and must have put it here and scheduled it. Not my usual though. Amnesia and short term memory problems can really be a bear sometimes and freak you out.

Pure and Evergreen.

I wrote you letters on your doorstep in late December
Painted through thoughts pure and evergreen

Never knew they would be so briefly held to matter
Why are they memories that won’t escape me

You don’t want to know me

Do you even care
Are you even aware
Do you ever remember loving me

Does your mind dare
Does it go there
Does it ever remember knowing me

I spelled your name in the sky through my bedroom window
Never will I be able to look that way again

I try to write a letter so you will remember
Tears blur the words until I can’t see

My heart burns so
My chest tightens to know
Please, oh please come crucify me

Loving you is a matter of a contradiction
Do you know what that means

Please, oh please you crucify me

The Beast or The Bean

poetry I had some menacing words this week but I thought about it and decided, yes they are menacing. At what could be more menacing than this? For those who may be looking at the Dead Things Taste Good on the fridge? That means all foods. Not just meat. Someone said vegans might get offended. I actually considered that before I wrote those words. I thought it out. I don’t believe we eat anything that is alive. At least I hope I don’t. coffee haiku cartoon

A Brand New Day (A Poem)

Poetry

It isn’t really a problem

This thing inside my head

Though others think it’s tragic

I look to it for creativity instead

I’ve learned how to write

About a person who needs love

When I already have friends

When push comes to shove

I’ve learned how to like

Some brand new things

Like cheeseburger pizzas

And BBQ flavored hot wings

But in truth

What it really has done

Has made out of me

A sensitive one

I know what is pain

I know what is loss

I know that things can happen

As quick as a coin toss

And through it all

Things end up okay

Because with each new dawn

I  have a brand new day

War: An Internal Struggle Haiku by @FinaletoEntranc

Starting this week I’ve decided to do something I’ve been wanting to do. Reblog the first to enter the Haiku Challenge. This week is author T.A. Wyatt of Finale to an Entrance.

Harsh Pleasure. (Poetry)

haiku-ronovan-writesI thought I would go a bit of a different route with this one. As with all poetry, the reader should take what they will from it.

haiku poetry

Some may call them harsh,

Moments you give me pleasure,

Are rare in failure.

Share and Reblog if you wish.

Your Rewards. (Poetry)

haiku-ronovan-writes

I normally have an image with my Haiku. Today I couldn’t come up with one that matched the words that I was able to truly capture what was in my mind. Perhaps later it will come to me but for now here are the words. I believe words some of us can too often identify with. This is my one Challenge Haiku of the week. I do hope you enjoy, or rather not enjoy.

Rare Loving Moments,

Are your rewards for Your Heart,

Receiving Harsh Words?

Toward Heartbreak (Poetry)

haiku-ronovan-writes

I write this in response to another Haiku this week as I said there was a challenge of sorts there. Even though that person displayed a desire to search for feelings to move a dark soul, I know of that feeling and even though it may lead to disaster at times, it is still worth the search and the destruction.

haiku love

I wait a heartbreak,

It is inevitable

I move toward love.
