I really enjoyed my first attempt at at a Haiku last week, and some of the other entries that I checked out were brilliant! Thanks so much to Ronovan’s Writes Weekly Haiku Poetry Prompt Challenge #38
I thought I would have another go this week. The words to be used are ‘Ill’ and ‘rest.’
Here is my attempt entitled ‘Nymphomaniac.’
She yearned for a man
A blind date was ill-advised

A quick update. I posted the Haiku Review and things I have because that’s my responsibility to do so. It’s what I do each week and unless I am actually in the hospital I will do what I can.
The Review took all day when it normally takes a few hours.
I had the Widgets article basically complete last week and it would have gone out Friday.
I am not healed. I am not better than I was yesterday. I am still highly medicated. I blog as I can because it keeps me going.
So if I do not respond to things, or come across as short at times, forgive me in advance. I’ll get better eventually.

Welcome everyone to the Weekly Haiku Prompt Challenge. You may have found your way here through The Daily Post pages, the WordPress Reader, Twitter, Google+, or however you found us, we’re glad you came. I’m not just saying that. After you have been with us for a time you will realize we aren’t just a place to share a three line poem. We are a community of friends here. That doesn’t mean you have to talk to us. Just visit the various Haiku and click Like if you actually like something.
I created this challenge to have a place for people to share and gain a little exposure to other readers they might not have otherwise. We all have different people who visit our blogs.
Provide your Twitter Handle if you have one. I usually can get it from sharing your Haiku through your Twitter sharing button. If you have a Twitter and don’t have it linked to your account don’t worry you can still have the share option work with the handle. My Example
You and your ill words, the reason for so much war.
The reason for so much war, give your mouth a rest.
But Haiku traditionally deals with nature in some way. Perhaps the above could be seen as the nature of a person. But let me see if I can do something with the words I came up with for nature itself.
The wind does blow ill a sense of dread across fields.
A sense of dread across fields at rest, slowly fades.
A ping back is when you place the URL from the address bar of this post into the post you write your Haiku on. It will look something like this,

Yes, if I had seen this one earlier I might have just stopped the review all together for the week and died. mmmm. The best thing I had in the hospital was the moment they brought me a glass of ice cold Sweet Tea. I tell you, it was amazing. And not because I wanted it so bad, but because it was really that good. Not good enough to be in the hospital though. She gets the Southern Haiku Award this week. Yeah, I just made that up. Although I am allergic to lemons so I had to deduct points for the dismount. And to think she thought I didn’t include her in the Review at first because I didn’t like her work. I’m Southern!!!! Mississippi boy living in Georgia!!!!
Sandra of Wild Daffodil: Crisp. After the past week or so I thought about banning this one from the Review but I couldn’t. It’s not the fault of the lettuce but of man for what they do to lettuce. Leave the foods as God gave them to us.

Martha of Meredith’s Musings Politicos and Wolf. At first I thought the titles were somewhat redundant but I kept reading anyway. I had to read the Politicos twice simply due to how the punctuation went to catch the two sentences, but that second sentence she formed is awesome. Inspiration for the Challenge Words.
March Madness in the United States is the tournament for the National Championship for the College basketball teams here. The Sweet Sixteen is one of the goals to reach. So sweet came from that and foul came from a penalty called on a player.
I’ll go curl up in a ball now and quietly read Haiku in my dreams.

Recently I published a How To article and in closing I mentioned if anyone had a How To they would like to see to let me know through the Comment Form on the About page. I got a request.
Widgets in the Sidebar, how?
Depending on the Widget this can be very simple, or a little less simple, but overall not that difficult.
I will show how to add four types of Widgets. If you don’t know how to get to where you select the kind of Widget you like in your Dashboard, make certain to keep reading before jumping to a certain section. The below links take you to sections of this article.
Let’s get started.
Different Widgets obviously have different purposes and it takes different steps for each kind. Some require you add a link from another website. Some require you add an image link from the Media portion of your blog Dashboard. But for each the next things are the same.
Something useful to know: You can then drag your Widget up and down the list of Widgets to place it in the order you would like. Perhaps you want more eyes on your Facebook Like Box than some other Widget. Just drag it to a more prominent position.
That’s the basic how to add a Widget process. As I said, some Widgets will require a little more work. Some of those are how you want them to appear or how many in a list you want to show. Those are simple.
One not so simple one but very popular Widget is the Twitter Timeline. For the (TT) click here to go to the article I wrote in July titled Adding the Twitter Timeline to your Sidebar. This article includes images of the process.Return to top of page.
The Image Widget is also popular to use. You will need an Image URL to place in the Widget information. The Image URL is the URL attached to an Image you have in your Media Library. Click to your Media section on the Dashboard and find the image you like and then copy and paste the link into the appropriate box. If you want people to click the image to go somewhere else, you need that URL address as well. As for the Width and Height? For my own blog I have found 210×210 pixels is as wide as I go without losing part of the image. You will change the numbers in the Widget area itself.Return to top of page.
Top Posts and Pages is probably one of the most popular Widgets to use that I have seen in my wandering about. For this one you need to chose between a Text List-a list of article names, an Image list-List of names with Image, or Image Grid-A side by side two column grid of images from your most popular posts and pages, at least that’s what it does on mine. You need to have an image inside of the post for it to grab or it will grab what it wants. I place one near the top of a post just in case. I can always come back and create an image if something happens. No specifics for size. The Grid makes it fit. You will also need to chose based on Likes or Views.Return to top of page.
Some people like to have a video in their Sidebar. For a time I had a Video Welcome to Ronovan Writes. I looked terrible and sounded bad. I removed it. But if you want to add a video you use the Text Widget:
Adding Widgets is a lot easier than people think. For one thing, remember this; You aren’t going to break anything. Something doesn’t work right, delete it and try again. I may add another article about this in the future.

Wanted to thank the few that noticed I as MIA the last few days. It was much appreciated. I have order to the Emergency Room by doctor after some tests were done for some fluids an antibiotics and ended up there for three days.
Turned out to be worse than anyone thought. Still almost as sick but on medications and the like for now.
Blogging will be light for the time being.
Again, much appreciation to those who sent messages of concern about my health. You know who you are.

I had great plans for writing today. I ended up with something else. Great or not is not for me to decide. I write, you read. Opinions are made. Words are put down in either situation, planned or not, the results may end up the same. I personally am okay with whatever happens.
A day meant for creating a biography of my inspiration for wanting to become a teacher, Sidney Poitier in the movie To Sir with Love, along with quotes from his autobiography lying next to my notebook and me, turned into a day of pain that many would call unbearable. I can laugh at that phrase.
People say they went through unbearable this or that. I like to ask, “If it was so unbearable, why am I am speaking to you standing up, instead of speaking over you lying down?”
My sadistic joy comes from the looks of puzzlement. Looking to the quotes I put forth at the beginning today, and my presence here in writing this article, what my opinion is on the unbearable pain I have gone through over the past few days, and specifically the past 24 hours should be apparent.
My Fibromyalgia is an ugly animal. It is one I have come to know and respect. Never become too comfortable with an animal, even a pet. Once you do, something will happen. A new trait comes out. Or maybe something totally unrelated. Hopefully to find out soon.
What have I done today?
Why sleep? Sleep don’t hurt. But also, I need sleep. What I did today was make progress in many areas and rested as much as I could. Rest isn’t something I don’t normally do. Even while succumbing to Chronic Fatigue it isn’t rest I am getting.
Even now while writing this article I have stopped several times due to the pain. I rarely ever stop because of pain. An article that should have taken me 15 minutes has so far taken me over two hours.
I’ve enjoyed it. Thinking is a great pastime for me. I love to get thinky, as I like to call it. This past year and half has allowed for some great thinky times. Every day I have a thinky moment. At least one. Usually more. That’s one reason I blog. I like to use those thinky times as inspiration for articles. Be grateful I don’t put all those moments on the blog.
I mentioned earlier that I was happy with whatever the results of the article might be today. Why? I wrote. That’s why. Did I write well? Not really, but I wrote. And that is a positive day to me.

People comment often wondering how I stay positive, how I keep doing all I do in the face of what I live with. How can I stay positive through the life I have been given?Practice. I know that sounds a little odd but as with anything in your life practice needs to happen. I didn’t just wake up and say, I’m good. Okay, perhaps I did, but then I had to do something about it and by ‘I’m good’ I mean I was not lettingmy health issuescontrol every aspect of my life.
Deciding to change does have an instant effect. Your view of things does change. You actually begin to see MORE of the negative things of the world. But you have to learn what to do about that view and that’s where the practice comes in.

This is the badge you can use if you like to put in your post and/or your sidebar. My side bar I found that 210×210 pixels is as large as it goes and shows everything. Why is there a copyright in the picture? My son “B” and I took the picture. He blew the Bubbles while I was on the ground looking up at the sky. He loved popping them and splashing me with the water. Hey, I thought it was a good idea at the time. At least he laughed. And that’s why I chose it as the Wonderful image.
#BeWoW began as a simple Positivity post on a Wednesday. I wanted to do something that kept me focused on being just that, Positive. Things were suggested and here we are. A registered Hashtag, an official Twitter Handle @BeWowBlogShare There is actually a blog for it, but only as a way of holding the name for when this becomes huge. There is a facebook page, Be Wonderful on Wednesday where you can put a link to a post. A link to on that page will be Tweeted through my Twitter Handle @RonovanWrites. One thing to remember is when you post a link on the page if you include a hashtag, that hasthtag will carry over to Twitter. Invite your friends to like the page and they can see the links to the posts without Twitter.

After a lovely conversation with Hugh last night, he mentioned that he participated in Ronovan’s Weekly Haiku Challenge and encouraged me to have a go. Now I know what a Haiku is, kind of, but have never, ever had a go at writing one. However, I normally like to have a go at something new, so am happy to try my hand at a Haiku!
The ‘prompt words’ are ‘foul’ and ‘sweet’

The Annual Blogging from A to Z Challenge. What was I thinking? Me? Confined to a set schedule and theme? Me joining with over 1000 other Bloggers around the world, sharing our posts and blogs?
Would it be poetry, the most likely choice of all for RonovanWrites? Would I do a poetry theme where I had the titles all begin with a certain letter, or each line begin with that letter? Could I do something like that? Well of course I could.
Nah, too easy, right? Although, thinking about it, hmm. Maybe I could do two A to Z Challenges? Do you guys think I could handle two at one time?
For now my idea is to share creators of a type from around the world. We get so caught up in our own little worlds that we forget there are creators out there from places we may never have even heard of.
I wanted to do something different and completely fun for me but also informative and revealing. Something that would be just a joy to research, get into, and just geek out on. Imagine it, from A to Z of creators of Awesomeness. The most Super creators ever. Awesome. And then that poetry idea I have in mind. Hmm.
Not enough of a reveal? I think it’s all here. Hints, clues. I wonder if I need to draw a picture? Hmm.

I’ve been seeing some mention of not knowing the structure of Haiku. If you are such a person, please scroll down the post until you see the section that I have given the color red this week. It has not been that color in the past, but the section has been there none the less. In that section is a link to an article titled How to write a Haiku Poem in English Form. Oh, what they hey, click here for the article.
Now to get the party started.
Welcome everyone to the Weekly Haiku Prompt Challenge. You may have found your way here through The Daily Post pages, the WordPress Reader, Twitter, Google+, or however you found us, we’re glad you came. I’m not just saying that. After you have been with us for a time you will realize we aren’t just a place to share a three line poem. We are a community of friends here. That doesn’t mean you have to talk to us. Just visit the various Haiku and click Like if you actually like something.
I created this challenge to have a place for people to share and gain a little exposure to other readers they might not have otherwise. We all have different people who visit our blogs.
Provide your Twitter Handle if you have one. I usually can get it from sharing your Haiku through your Twitter sharing button. If you have a Twitter and don’t have it linked to your account don’t worry you can still have the share option work with the handle. If you are reading this if you include the word happy in your post somewhere, not necessarily in the haiku, I will reblog your haiku post to my blog and then my readers might visit you that way as well, but don’t be obvious about it. This is a little game I’ve started. Click here to find out how to have your Twitter Handle show up in your share option. You know. I have a how-to article for just about everything. If not? Ask and I’ll write one. Also it is helpful if you have Google+ to follow me there by clicking here so I can include you on the Weekly Review when I post it there.
My Example
A foul remembrance are you with each word written.
Are you, with each word written, forming a sweet heart?
A ping back is when you place the URL from the address bar of this post into the post you write your Haiku on. It will look something like this,

You also have to make certain the link is actually in there by clicking on the add link button which is next to the right alignment button for WordPress. To me the add link button kind of looks like a diagonal paper clip. It’s the fifth from the right in the WordPress post editor. Click here to find out how.

Have you ever had more than one blog and then decided you just wanted one? Or have you ever maybe been part of one site and wanted to move something you wrote over to your own personal site? Wish you could combine those blogs into one or move that article over? Maybe you simply want to backup your blog content?
Just to let you know, if any links appear in this article and you click them, they will appear in this window, not a new tab or new window. You will need to click the back arrow to return to this page.
How to Combine or Merge Blogs or move your Articles from one Blog to another.
It’s easier than you think. It looks like a lot of information, but I’m just detailed in my information providing. It is really is easy.
Remember what you move is still on the old blog. You would need to actually delete it from the other site if you wanted to.
First we’re going to Export whatever it is you want to Export.
Step One.
In WordPress.com you will see two options you can select.
I of course will be explain the Free way.
Step Two.
Step Three.
The File will go to your Download folder on your computer.
Now to Import the File to the other Blog.

You will want to make sure things are as you like them with your tags and things like that. The content will still be in the other Blog but you can do with it what you like at this point.
You can also download Blogger files and then load them to WordPress but you will need to do some changing once the files are loaded. But you still have everything you need. What do you have to do?

Dr. KO of KO Rural Mad As Hell Blog: Beacon of Bacon. I am thinking the Mad in our Doctor’s blog title may not be the angry version. Reading how she arrived at her Haiku this week is quite interesting, but I do believe the wagon may be called in soon. Still with that thought process she arrived first. I personally thought it was she was hungry. I still do.
Mira of They, You And Me and To Wear and Rainbow blogs: Mira gave us two this week. One from each blog. Maple Leaves. Who doesn’t love some Mira showing up with an offering? Great image to go with this one. Fits perfectly. I was surprised at the Haiku. Not sure why I haven’t thought of Mira and Maple Leaves. Beacon of Hope. Inspiration for the Challenge Words.
On March 12th the world lost the author known as Terry Pratchett. Although we did have a Haiku Challenge member use the prompts from that week to write a tribute Haiku, I decided to do something slightly different. I thought I would use his life to inspire others. Terry Pratchett was born in Beaconsfield, Buckinghamshire, England.
Still the same amount as last week. I hope these people are finding a place to live somehow.
