Listing the Negatives in Your Life.

I am going to ask you to make lists today. Not lists to share with anyone. These lists are to be made of negatives of your life. I want you to give the lists the following headings:

  • External Negatives: These are negatives that are outside your control. Things you are not able to personally control your long term reactions to or veer away from being influenced by.
  • Internal Negatives: These are negatives you are in control of. Things you personally can control your reactions to, your thoughts about, and being influenced by.
  • Temporary Negatives: These are negatives you see as one time events.
  • Constant Negatives: These are those things that seem to be always there to cause you stress and bring you down.

I would give you examples but these are Your Negatives and Your Thoughts of which list they fall under.

Don’t do anything with these lists yet. Simply take the next week to, take your  time, and think about filling out the lists. It’s okay to move one thing from list A to list B during that time as your thoughts become accustomed to what is what in your life.

I am sure you have had people tell you to make lists of the positives in your life, but I have another idea. Next week you will find out what it is and it will make so much sense. And no, fire will not be involved in regards to the lists.

Sounds a bit harsh doesn’t it? It does when put like I just did. But that’s the way we are told or the way we think it.

I wrote recently about Female Executivea lady executive from Coca Cola that I heard at a business luncheon. In that article I wrote about doing your best at whatever you are doing at a given time. Well I mentioned she gave two pieces of advice that day. I actually typed those pieces of advice up and saved them on my computer. What? You think I remember all this stuff?

As important as doing your best always is, controlling you is even more so. What do I mean by controlling you?

The Power of Negative Thinking by @drtcp

I found this TED Talk, oddly a short one,  as I was looking for talks on positivity. It’s about the Power of Negative Thinking by Dr. Tomas Chamorro-Premuzic, a self professed dr.thomasrecovering Argentine psychologist who is a Professor of Business Psychology at University College London as well as being an author. See his books on Amazon here. It has humor but also information I am wondering what you think about. I thought I would start something a little new here.

100 Word Wisdom: Say You Love Them.

It’s the idea of sharing a piece of advice in 100 words. If it takes longer than that it’s too much for most people to listen to anyway. And yes, the following is exactly 100 words.

 

Tell the one you love you love them. Never have the attitude of “they know I do”. Often times, relationships die out because of a lack of communication, yeah, I know, an old cliché. You know why cliché’s are clichés, because they happen often enough for people to say them that much.

Communication doesn’t even need to be words. A touch, a smile, a look, an action of some kind will tell a person you love them. But actions and words need to work together to form a truth. One without the other is like a yin without a yang.

You don’t have to use that as your idea, but if you need an idea, there you have it.

All you need do is write a post, Tweet it with the hashtag of #BeWoW just as it appears there. It stands for Be Wonderful on Wednesday. The post needs to be about positivity, encouragement, motivation, or just something positive. This isn’t a spammer share where you tweet everything you have.

Also I will post my #BeWoW and if you want my Readers to possibly see yours, paste your link in the comments of mine and they might go visit. That will make certain I see them.

You may seem some other  types of tweets in the #BeWoW hashtag but you’ll be able to tell which are which. It’s pretty simple.

Okay everyone, we’re going to freshen this up a bit. Actually we’re going to try to make this simple for you, the poets. Please read the post to see what changes have been made, or unmade. You’ll get the picture. Basically this has to do with the whole pingback or not thing. If you are a veteran member of the family you can look for the sections that are this color and that will give you an idea of what you need to know. I think there are three sections. Two are numbered and one is below that area.

Speaking of picture, if you’re new here, don’t freak out at the image below. I make a new one each week and this week I kind of was going for a much more complicated image and it was going to take forever. The words this week are Think and Fresh. So below we have a bright idea burning away the cobwebs of old, stale ideas. I like to get a little creative, or whatever you call that below.

I created this challenge to have a place for people to share creativity and gain a little exposure to other readers they might not have otherwise AND of course to enjoy Haiku. We all have different people who visit our blogs, so this way we get to meet new people. Just so you know, this is a community. You will get to know the people here and make several new friends along the way.

First one to submit an entry gets reblogged here on Ronovan Writes. But go for quality, that’s the important part.

First of all, if you don’t know how to write a Haiku in English format, don’t worry, there are links below to articles I’ve written to show you how. Or you can click that link there. They are easier than you think. And to be honest, as for the challenge, I don’t really have rules for people sticking to formats unless it comes down to having to decide between two people for one of the Choices of the week. Choices are the winners, my selections, for one Serious and one Humorous Haiku each week that just gets me. But staying to formats does make you a better writer of Haiku. And with practice, it becomes second nature.

So you write a Haiku, what do you do with it?

  1. You have the Haiku as a post on your blog.
  2. Within that post you can put one of the two links you will find below under “Use One Of These Links in Your Blog”. Just copy and paste and make sure they are active/live. That’s called a pingback for one of them, but not the other. What’s a Pingback? How do you do it? Click here to find out how if you don’t know how.
  3. If you don’t do the real pingback link, which will be called “Pingback Link” below, then make sure to put a link to your post in the comments of this Challenge post so we can all go read your Haiku. Either way is cool with me. Or you can do both.
  4. The Challenge Post is published each Monday at 9 AM Eastern Time, or New York Time for those like me who get confused with all those easterns  and stuff. Don’t know what your time zone is compared to New York Time? Click here for a Time Zone Map showing times as of right this moment.
  5. You have until Noon Eastern New York Time Sunday to submit your Haiku. You may submit as many as you like, even multiple ones within the same post if you like. There is no limit.
  6. Why submit? We have several members of the challenge family and they visit other members, also people visit the challenge specifically to see what people write, and I do a weekly review of each and every Haiku written and put that out Sunday afternoon or Monday morning, depending on how much time it takes. That Review then gets shared on Twitter. I do at times keep tweeting the Review until I have included every Twitter Handle of every Poet who has participated, but I don’t always do that these days as the number is beginning to get big. But sometimes I do anyway.

Note: If you do both a Pingback and a Comment with a link, you will at some point notice the pingback on the Challenge Post here will disappear. I’ll be doing that to make it easier for people to visit each of you and not click on the same person twice not realizing the pingback and comment link are the same person. 🙂 I can tell the difference but when you are casually reading, who wants to bother with that, right? But don’t worry, the link is still active/live in your post.

One easy way to read the Haiku from the Challenge Post comments area is to right click and open the link in a new tab or window. That way you don’t lose your place in the list and you don’t have to keep revisiting my blog. Yes, it would give me a lot more visits but I know all those visits are all of you reading each others Haiku anyway.

People like to try different ways of doing Haiku and below are links to how to do some different kinds if you are interested.

Want to know How to write a Haiku Poem in English Form? Click here for the article. Also here you have an article that shows you a little about Haiku used in Haibun and Tanka as well. Haiku in English is the primary form for the challenge but you can use any of them. This is about being creative and pushing yourself to share a message or image in very few words.

You do not have to include the sentences within your post, but it does help others understand how Haiku works if you do.

There are TWO “CHOICE!” recipients each week. One for Humor and one for something more Serious. The Haiku are quite good each week and I am having to turn to the structure guidelines of a Haiku at times to help determine my selection.

Really each Haiku is a choice of mine, and I’m not just saying that, so I feel a bit odd even having something called A RONOVAN’S CHOICE, but hey, it’s a thing, right? And it does make it kind of fun.

Return to Focus: My Sunday Thought

This week’s Sunday Thought is going to be a little more direct in nature. I have strayed in recent months in my writing from what I most enjoy and have delved more into some serious and gray area topics. I think this is a reflection of my creative energy being low. I don’t talk about my low creative energy because people always say, “Oh, I’ve been through that.” No, they haven’t. Not in this way. I always have creative ideas going through this whacked out mind of mine, I just can’t physically do anything about it at times.

But I’m taking steps to get back there to where I belong. Baby steps, if you will. Today I wanted to talk about my faith. That’s what my Sunday Thoughts is supposed to be. Hang with me here as I talk about it.

I’ve been watching a lot of interviews on youtube of various types. For one, I used to be a huge wrestling fan, professional wrestling. I go back to the days of the old Memphis wrestling with Jerry “The King” Lawler and “Superstar” Bill Dundee. Don’t worry, this article isn’t about wrestling.

Watching these interviews of wrestlers telling the truth of how things were led me to two things. One was the wrestler Sting’s movie Moment of Truth about where at the height of his popularity and with his personal life in shambles he turned to God and became a Christian. The other thing I discovered was how incidents and even people are viewed so differently depending on the person telling the story and that you have to be careful of who you listen to for the truth because the most convincing ones can turn out to be the ones with the worst views and personal agendas in the telling.

Being led through all the chaos of professional wrestling to a Christianity movie was interesting. I knew Sting was a Christian. I also knew one thing, with the same information, can be interpreted two or more different ways depending on the interpreter. Somewhat confirming in many ways and refocusing for me.

I’ve been wondering about the purpose of my blog. I know it is to share my thoughts and creative output but we each have something about us we want to share. I tend to share everything. But it’s how we share that makes each of us different.

When I speak about being a Christian I can sense the wincing of some, the flinch here or there, and the shutting of doors in others. And I actually understand all of that. If I didn’t know me and had to go on most of the in-the-spotlight-Christians, I might do the same.

But my goal here in sharing my faith and how I present myself, although I don’t do it intentionally, is to show people what a Christian can be. Just another person who is like everyone else. A person with problems. A person who is not perfect, and doesn’t claim to be. A person who has ups and downs and way way lows.

A person who can lose focus and find it again. Also a person who sees people as people and nice people as people to be friends with, regardless of beliefs, locations, or lifestyles. A person who says here I am, here is what I believe, take it or leave it, but I’m not forcing myself or my beliefs on you. Be my friend if you like, just the way you are.

Not everyone understands a Christian can be like that. That in fact a Christian isn’t supposed to be a judger of others or a forcer of beliefs. In fact we are the last ones to be judgers and forcers if we follow the teachings of Jesus. Too bad not enough Christians do that.

But I get the extremist Christians’ point of view at times in feeling they have to get out and cause some noise. Every movement or cause does that. For some reason when it comes to Christians it’s seen as some vile hate thing. Okay, maybe it’s because some of those, okay one of those churches out there that likes to call itself a church protests funerals and goes against everything God says about Christian behavior.

Great way to get people to turn to God!

Notice I don’t mention their name. I don’t want to give their church site any traffic or have there name pop up on searches because of me anymore than they already do.

As you visit my site, I hope you find a person that is fair, friendly, welcoming, and loving to all who are nice to him. Be mean to me and I’ll ignore you. I’ve decided to refuse to waste the little physical and mental energy I have on mean people. I’m focusing on the positives of life. I think if we do that and build more and more positives, that some day we will overcome and overpower the negatives.

Emotionally, mentally you will get what you focus on. If you expect negatives you will see the negatives and ignore any positives. Focus on the positives that happen in your life. You will find the negative people in your life will find your positivity repulsive and slowly drift away. Then you will discover even less negative things are happening around you.

Well, that’s it for today. Returning my focus where it belongs. Now to see what comes out of that.

The image for the challenge came across a bit creepy and Halloweenish so I decided to go with something that I think is a bit brighter and fresher.

If you don’t see your Haiku below, I went in search of the regular members but didn’t see any Haiku for some this week, but I did find a few that didn’t show on the Challenge Post in any form. Remember if you don’t us the ping back link, make sure to leave a link to your Haiku in comments on the original Challenge post for the week that is published on Monday.

Meredith of Meredith’s Musings: Krispy Kreme Donuts and More? Hmm, if you combined these two it would most definitely make for an interesting moment. Use your imaginations. Okay, don’t use them that hard. I just realized how bad some of you could get.  

Angie Lin of Muddied Thoughts: Signals. Have to like this one. This one made me kind of pause and think, when and how did she come up with it. Not a complicated Haiku, but I like the message of it in the simplicity and calmness of it. Very nice.

Claudette of to search and to find happiness in every day: Regrets. Hmm, another nature reflecting emotional ones in my eyes I think. Okay, so the title Regrets sort of puts that out there too but the words of the Haiku in a seasonal way lead you in that direction.

Skybright1 of from heart to head: Season Sighs. You know, I am torn between that fresh part cause of my hot nature and the later part. I mean, I wish it were like in the low 70s year round with a slight breeze I think. Imagine being allergic to the heat and the sun. It’s a lot of fun.

Jane Dougherty of Jane Dougherty Writes: Remember and Return. That’s right, two of them. Woman is a romantic. 🙂 Read her Amazon Author Page Bio to see if any of that has an influence, just don’t get too jealous. You’ll get jealous, just seriously, try not to go overboard. Ruth of Mad Meandering Me: Afternoon Nap  Adorable. That’s pretty much all you can say. That, or nightmare, depending on your own state at the time.

Clarence Holm of PrairieChat: Influence. That last sentence formed-I have to say I like that a lot, especially that last line. Depending on ones imagination you could see a person do having so many facial reactions with that. Great prompt for a flash fiction challenge I would think. And here is another one! Freshened Up. Had a difficult time naming this one. Very interesting subject and way of phrasing. Very enjoyable. One more from Clarence: Pepe Le Scent. Okay, can you just like know where this is going? I haven’t even read it yet and I have a feeling it stinks. 🙂 Okay, this man’s thoughts travel along trails few dare venture. To Pew or not to Pew, that is the question. Dare we Love or Dare we Fear? Phew the Pew. (Okay, I’m done. He inspired my insanity for a moment. Blame Clarence.)

Dr. KO of KO Rural Mad As Hell Blog: Think fresh. I’m almost scared to look. This lady has a way with words that has me sitting and staring for a while trying to follow the trail to how she got to where she ended up. Now to go see what she did this time. If you do a search of the name mentioned in the post you will find some wonderful works. I did, of course. Someone gets creativity through DNA it seems.

Katsyarina of LifeRaduga: 5 Haiku. So that’s the number of Haiku she did. Sue me for being so unoriginal. Interesting assortment this week. I couldn’t have come up with a title to encompass all of them if I had tried. Really went in different places from each other with them. Nice.

Josue Mapagdalita (pen name: Sueju Takeshi) of Takeshi’s Flight: Refreshed Wounds. Dude, this really hits. You read this and you are like instantly thrown into a place.

Florence of Meanings and Musings: Love Doctor  I at first titled this one Ronovan, but I thought people might take it seriously. So I came up with my pseudonym instead. I mean a different title instead. Does it have anything to do with the Haiku? Well, depends on how you look at it, although in this case I don’t think so, but with Florence I can have fun with titles. After all, she literally lives half a world away. And actually, guys, it’s as great Haiku. Seriously. @FTThum

Think to yourself, do you know what I’m asking
Do I give you your dreams, through your rose colored eyes
Clearing your mind, with each breath that you’re taking
Can you break with a smile, through the sands of our lives

 
Hearts are breaking, in distant worlds of wonder
Why does it have to be, though for years it has been
Shaking the hold, with a moment of thunder
Can you see the days, know you always will win

 
Temporary moments of silence and solo
Does it matter if quiet rules over the day
What does it matter as long as we both know
We’re going together in the same along way

 
I want the minutes to pass like lightning
With seconds non-existent in time of the realm
Reality breaks me into pieces somewhat frightening
But I pull myself up nothing to me overwhelm

 
You may miss the every second of every moment
When I fall down and cannot get up to stand
But don’t worry about me breaking I’m only gently bent
I’m fine as long as there is a glimmer, a hint, a strand

 
Hope is the future of a wasted past’s happenings
Future is the hope of a today’s receding sands of the shore
Never give up on me as I ramble in blatherings

My way to keep moving on when down? My #BeWoW Post.

I wanted to do something light and simple for today’s BeWoW post. I always get myself in the trap of trying to write something that is informative of inspirational as far as how I deal with my everyday health problems and putting a positive spin on things to keep going.

Well, one way to do that is, can you guess?

That’s right, don’t try to put a spin on anything. Just go with the flow and find something to make your day fun and frolicsome. Wow, that’s a word? Did I just admit I didn’t know that’s a word? I’ll blame it on the amnesia/concussion.

So one thing I do to have fun is Youtube. I can’t really watch TV but I can do little clips or interviews. So I thought of Natalie Imbruglia one day. One of the most gorgeous women EVER!

Okay, I’m good now. I can continue.

Anyway, I saw an interview with her and that led me to her song Torn. Duh, right? Well here is a different version. Awesome.

And now you know how I pass the time sometimes. When I can’t write I can at least have some fun.

Tomorrow is #BeWoW Wednesday, my weekly Twitter blogshare of positive posts. The suggested topic, if you ned one is Talk about how you keep Positive.

You don’t have to use that as your idea, but if you need an idea, there you have it.

All you need do is write a post, Tweet it with the hashtag of #BeWoW just as it appears there. It stands for Be Wonderful on Wednesday. The post needs to be about positivity, encouragement, motivation, or just something positive. This isn’t a spammer share where you tweet everything you have.

Also I will post my #BeWoW and if you want my Readers to possibly see yours, paste your link in the comments of mine and they might go visit. That will make certain I see them.

You may seem some other  types of tweets in the #BeWoW hashtag but you’ll be able to tell which are which. It’s pretty simple.

Don’t just RT a tweet, and do RT them otherwise why do this, right? But go and visit the post as well. I’ve made some friends and found some surprises.

Writing Tip: Using Youtube.

You ever wanted to make a song or video on youtube loop or repeat and play over and over? Maybe you found a full length album or a movie or something?

I received my email notice of Jen’s Pen Den’s Music Monday about Taylor Swift’s Bad Blood song. I didn’t have a chance to visit the post at the time but I was on youtube for something and Taylor Swift’s name came up and that made me think of the email so I looked up the song. I’ve read the post now. 🙂 (If you want to see the video, click the blue link above and visit Jen’s blog post. Saw no reason to mention her post and then put the video here. Kind of would seem like a jerk thing, you know?)

Awesome song and even better video. Even if you are like a total Swiftie Hater you will love the video to this and the song itself has an attitude. I read the story behind it on wikipedia and oh yeah. Awesome. The video also has a lot of stars in it like Selena Gomez, Zendeya, and Cindy Crawford. No, not a modeling thing, a serious action movie.

I’ve been working on a short story and needed a song to capture a certain feel, well this one was it. But having to stop and make the song start over again each time sort of breaks the train of thought, the flow of my writing. Thus, the search for how to make the song loop.

Here is the YouTube Tip for Tuesday.

When you look at the URL for the song, let’s make up something like

http://www.youtube.com/taytayswiftkickbuttie (which is not a real link so don’t click it.)

To make that loop you would simply type the word repeat after youtube.

That means it would now look like

http://www.youtuberepeat.com/taytayswiftkickbuttie

That will take you to listenonrepeat.com. The song/video will then play on loop until you make it stop.

Simple, easy, and now you can write and keep grooving or jazzercise to your favorite 80s song over and over again.

Okay everyone, we’re going to freshen this up a bit. Actually we’re going to try to make this simple for you, the poets. Please read the post to see what changes have been made, or unmade. You’ll get the picture. Basically this has to do with the whole pingback or not thing. If you are a veteran member of the family you can look for the sections that are this color and that will give you an idea of what you need to know. I think there are three sections. Two are numbered and one is below that area.

Speaking of picture, if you’re new here, don’t freak out at the image below. I make a new one each week and this week I kind of was going for a much more complicated image and it was going to take forever. The words this week are Think and Fresh. So below we have a bright idea burning away the cobwebs of old, stale ideas. I like to get a little creative, or whatever you call that below.

I created this challenge to have a place for people to share creativity and gain a little exposure to other readers they might not have otherwise AND of course to enjoy Haiku. We all have different people who visit our blogs, so this way we get to meet new people. Just so you know, this is a community. You will get to know the people here and make several new friends along the way.

First one to submit an entry gets reblogged here on Ronovan Writes. But go for quality, that’s the important part.

First of all, if you don’t know how to write a Haiku in English format, don’t worry, there are links below to articles I’ve written to show you how. Or you can click that link there. They are easier than you think. And to be honest, as for the challenge, I don’t really have rules for people sticking to formats unless it comes down to having to decide between two people for one of the Choices of the week. Choices are the winners, my selections, for one Serious and one Humorous Haiku each week that just gets me. But staying to formats does make you a better writer of Haiku. And with practice, it becomes second nature.

So you write a Haiku, what do you do with it?

  1. You have the Haiku as a post on your blog.
  2. Within that post you can put one of the two links you will find below under “Use One Of These Links in Your Blog”. Just copy and paste and make sure they are active/live. That’s called a pingback for one of them, but not the other. What’s a Pingback? How do you do it? Click here to find out how if you don’t know how.
  3. If you don’t do the real pingback link, which will be called “Pingback Link” below, then make sure to put a link to your post in the comments of this Challenge post so we can all go read your Haiku. Either way is cool with me. Or you can do both.
  4. The Challenge Post is published each Monday at 9 AM Eastern Time, or New York Time for those like me who get confused with all those easterns  and stuff. Don’t know what your time zone is compared to New York Time? Click here for a Time Zone Map showing times as of right this moment.
  5. You have until Noon Eastern New York Time Sunday to submit your Haiku. You may submit as many as you like, even multiple ones within the same post if you like. There is no limit.
  6. Why submit? We have several members of the challenge family and they visit other members, also people visit the challenge specifically to see what people write, and I do a weekly review of each and every Haiku written and put that out Sunday afternoon or Monday morning, depending on how much time it takes. That Review then gets shared on Twitter. I do at times keep tweeting the Review until I have included every Twitter Handle of every Poet who has participated, but I don’t always do that these days as the number is beginning to get big. But sometimes I do anyway.

Note: If you do both a Pingback and a Comment with a link, you will at some point notice the pingback on the Challenge Post here will disappear. I’ll be doing that to make it easier for people to visit each of you and not click on the same person twice not realizing the pingback and comment link are the same person. 🙂 I can tell the difference but when you are casually reading, who wants to bother with that, right? But don’t worry, the link is still active/live in your post.

One easy way to read the Haiku from the Challenge Post comments area is to right click and open the link in a new tab or window. That way you don’t lose your place in the list and you don’t have to keep revisiting my blog. Yes, it would give me a lot more visits but I know all those visits are all of you reading each others Haiku anyway.

People like to try different ways of doing Haiku and below are links to how to do some different kinds if you are interested.

Want to know How to write a Haiku Poem in English Form? Click here for the article. Also here you have an article that shows you a little about Haiku used in Haibun and Tanka as well. Haiku in English is the primary form for the challenge but you can use any of them. This is about being creative and pushing yourself to share a message or image in very few words.

There are TWO “CHOICE!” recipients each week. One for Humor and one for something more Serious. The Haiku are quite good each week and I am having to turn to the structure guidelines of a Haiku at times to help determine my selection.

Really each Haiku is a choice of mine, and I’m not just saying that, so I feel a bit odd even having something called A RONOVAN’S CHOICE, but hey, it’s a thing, right? And it does make it kind of fun.

Like that last one, Love Denied a lot. And love the title Pitchforks at Dawn.

The Haiku: Time Stops. Nice one here, guys. Great structure. Two great images. The first and second could read as one or separate. Well worth a visit to say hi. As for that image of her profile picture. If she drew that, AWESOME! I am jealous. Unfortunately no Twitter Handle for this lady. Bummer that.

Runaway Nuns and Leprechauns: Yes, you read that right. Do we even have to go any further? I mean, can it get cooler than that title? “Runaway Nuns and Leprechauns… an odd name for a blog or what? We’d actually prefer it to be known as a peaceful, magical and mystical spot. It’s a spot where you can stop in for a daily dose of love and laughter sprinkled with a bit of chaos, confusion and lunacy. You can get great recipes and cooking tips, as well as drilling and building ideas. Who does that? Who knows their way around the kitchen and around the tool shed?”~From the About Page. (If you have difficulty reading the about page, just hilight it and it’s a lot clearer. Cool information. The Haiku: Pitch. Interesting. I like that use of time. There is a word in there that is cool.

Sandra of Wild Daffodil: Pitch, Time and Middle. Two actually. Love the image used. Goes so well with both Haiku. Actually gives a bit more meaning overall to the story told in the two Haiku. Very nice.

Marjorie of Kyrosmagica: 2 This week. One Humor and One Serious. Boot Loot? and Theft. Thievery seems to be the theme here. Never thought of that. That second one is most definitely a serious one. One I never would have thought to put into a Haiku.

My Sunday Thought: The Irish Vote.

I wrote about the vote in Ireland and same sex marriage for my Sunday Thought today and how I don’t agree with it. I let a friend read it and the question was put to me, “Will they read all of it to see what your point is?”

Let’s see what the answer is.

 

What to write about today? I think I want to talk about what happened in Ireland and their recent vote.

I don’t agree with it.

But why?

Uh oh. People gonna make assumptions. I see it coming already.

If that were here in the US and there was to be a Constitutional Amendment about marriage, I would definitely be against it.

But again, why?

Because I don’t think marriage should be a government thing at all.

Just blew some peoples assumptions.

The government controlling marriage of any kind simply gives them money here and taxation rights and a say over our lives and what is right or wrong. Honestly, I would be going after the businesses instead of after a marriage amendment. Oh wait, the insurance companies are the ones that really make ‘marriage’ an issue.

They dictate who can receive benefits and that depends on who is considered married. You know, the insurance companies could make that simpler. And really, governments should have no say over who is married or not.

You see, if the US wanted to have a marriage amendment for marriage being just man to woman, I wouldn’t vote for it either.

Some say they wouldn’t be voting for gay marriage but for civil rights. I guess some would say it is their civil right to be against same sex marriage. Would a person then vote for that person to have that right without calling them homophobic?

Some people say marriage is based from religion, some say it is from some governmental thing way back when. All based on point of view.

There are a lot of things that the government gets involved in that I think they should stay out of. Then there are the things they should get involved in they seem to ignore totally.

Here in the US each state has the right to have the people vote on marriage. It’s down to the people in the area and not people of other states determining what people thousands of miles away will have to live by. Even then I would still vote against any kind of state amendment regarding any type of marriage.

I’m a Christian. Duh, right? Well, I mean most of you know that already. That means I don’t force anything I believe on anyone. I can tell you about it, but if you don’t like it, that’s fine. I don’t want to pass a law that says everyone has to believe in God as I know Him. Or pass a law that says everyone should use the same translation of the Bible I use. Sorry KJ people, but I need to study in modern English to understand at times.

Oh, and if you run across a person that claims they are a Christian and says you have to believe as they do, don’t take them as an example of a follower of Jesus. Jesus said, as I have mentioned here before, shake the dust of that town off your feet and move on. Meaning, they believe what they want to believe.

Do I have a different solution to the government control over marriage? Sort of, but I need to work on it a little. But even then the government would get involved somehow.

I hope you read this all the way through and see I’m not homophobic. I think I am governmentophobic.

Jesus said give to Caesar what is Caesar’s and to God what is God’s. In many aspects of life that is how I look at things. Sorry, but I nor marriage is Caesar’s.

Oh, and if you noticed earlier I said. “If that were here in the US and there was to be a Constitutional Amendment about marriage, I would definitely be against it. “ I didn’t say same sex marriage, I said marriage. I wonder how many of you caught that.
