The River Runs Through.

The way to freedom is a line,
straight or a meandering vine,
circling and entwines,
never to join the beginning.

Do not think to what came before,
gone to be left evermore,
in the path you score,
what happens in a river?

As troubled water flows it pounds,
eroding till what was left drowns,
tumbling til it washes down,
the stain of its memory.

Love in the Air.

Love in the Air

On soft breeze a divine bouquet
her invitation is discrete,
to imbibe in her gifts so sweet,
and my heart with joy must obey.
Eternal beasts come into play.

Distance is an icy lover,
these shivers I cannot cover.
Time will tell the battles end.
I’ll travel along that soft wind,
to love to rediscover.

You are the answer.

You Are The Answer quote image

My Way From Hell.

The winds fight through memories walls,
Shaking earth and the very foundation falls.
Never does the howling cry release,
The heart relentless to true belief.

Is it the craven mongrel’s hunger,
Seething inside and sounding thunder?
Beating the heart until aching pains,
Thrust through the chambers built for love’s gains.

Phantasms drift through sleeping minds,
Haunting desires of different kinds.
One less stumbling step to take,
Until it’s time for goodness sake.

Pathways higher than others may stand,
Wind blown free from dangerous sand.
Particles of grime to taint the dream,
Will never bring the pure of heart to scream.

Take your wallowed mess of grievous hate,
And keep it for your eternal soul mate.
I have found my way from hell,
Finding love out of my pained shell.

No Bridge Too Far.

Thinking of the prompt words for my Haiku Challenge this week, I encourage you to join with the great group of poets/bloggers, my evil mind came up with this week I kept thinking of how the word bridge united two worlds. Those worlds could be any two life systems this planet possesses.

I’m staying positive in these thoughts. I’m considering the world of love today. How often have you seen that true love in your life only to say it is impossible or too much trouble to achieve happiness? How often do you say it just wasn’t meant to be, or maybe you don’t deserve it?

For some it could actually be a physical distance. Maybe even other obstacles combined with that distance. Is ultimate love and happiness worth  a going the extra miles, giving the extra effort, or perhaps even going through that miles and miles of pain knowing love is waiting at the end?

Is there a bridge too far for you?

A bridge too far is

A path you’ve never taken,

Could change your future.

By the fate of I–A Brighter day. (Poetry)

I don’t sing no more.
What do you think you’re doing.
I won’t cry no more.
That’s what you bring from me.

Thought about it,
Then I went another way.
Shook about it,
Then I thought another way.

You may think you know me,
You never knew me at all.
You laugh at me and what I be,
Now look at what you lost in the fall.

I don’t sing no more,
What do you think you’re doing.
I won’t cry no more.
That’s what you bring from me.

You wish you could see,
Then you crash on the rocks.
You think you are free,
Then you crash on the rocks.

Think about it,
What do you really know?
Do you want to shout it,
“Please, please let me go”?

By the power of I.
There is a better way.
Give up the big lie,
And you will find a brighter day.

Now it’s time to end,
I’ve never been in so need of a kiss.
I keep healing to mend,
My heart will never forever miss.

By the power of I.
I have a brighter day.

Stream of conscious poem/lyric poem today. Just wrote this so if it doesn’t make sense, blame the MRI and no editing.

Live in the Now, not in the Then.

“The only use of an obstacle is to be overcome. All that an obstacle does with brave men is, not to frighten them, but to challenge them.”~Woodrow Wilson

Two weeks ago I asked you to Make a List of Your Negatives, while last week I said to get rid of one of those negatives. Two problems with that last one. One, the article was long and few people read it. The other problem, for those who read it I imagine you were expecting me to tell you how to get rid of those negatives. By the way, there was more to the article than ‘get rid of one of those negatives’.

Today I’ll attempt to be brief and tell you how to be rid of negatives.

X Out the Past and 0 Out Your Future

Let’s take your list of negatives in their nice columns and for every negative that comes from a past event place an x beside it. For every negative whose source lies in the future, in other words something you are wanting but can’t have yet or may never have, place a little circle beside it.

Now realize you are looking at things that cannot be reached or dealt with in the present. Wait before you start yelling about controlling what might happen in the future.

Those Past Negatives are in the past. Unless you want to apologize to someone or forgive someone, you are most likely out of luck. Drop those Past Negatives. And if you haven’t apologized or forgiven in all these years and are having problems with it, that’s called Regret. You can visit my Regrets are where they belong, in the past from this past Wednesday for some good quotes about regrets.

Know You Are In The Now

Expecting anything from someone else is a Negative you will never control. That’s one Negative you are to never allow to take a rest in your mind. It’s time to live in the now, not the yesterday, not the future, but the now. Here. Now. Not in the what you wished you had or what you hope to have, but in the what you have. You can work toward what you want to have some day, but that’s some day. That’s a goal, not a Negative.

Take your list, do the x’s and o’s and start working your way through those x’s. And really, if you are strong enough, you can toss them all, but if you haven’t already done that, then you most likely will need to take the baby steps I’ve talked about previously. There is no hurry, no race, no trophy.

You need to:

  • Think about why that Negative happened
  • What you had to do with it
  • Why it is still hanging with you
  • What can you do about it
  • What it has done to your life
  • Then realize it is over

That last part is the most difficult. Read through the article again and you’ll see why you are to let it go and let it be over. You’re in control of it all. Don’t ALLOW anything, especially a memory to control YOU.

Live in the here and now, and enjoy life.

“When faced with a challenge, happy families, like happy people, just add a new chapter to their life story that shows them overcoming the hardship. This skill is particularly important for children, whose identity tends to get locked in during adolescence.”~Bruce Feiler

Sands of Our Lives

poem-sands-of-our-lives

Think to yourself, do you know what I’m asking
Do I give you your dreams, through your rose colored eyes
Clearing your mind, with each breath that you’re taking
Can you break with a smile, through the sands of our lives

Hearts are breaking, in distant worlds of wonder
Why does it have to be, though for years it has been
Shaking the hold, with a moment of thunder
Can you see the days, know you always will win

Temporary moments of silence and solo
Does it matter if quiet rules over the day
What does it matter as long as we both know
We’re going together in the same along way

I want the minutes to pass like lightning
With seconds non-existent in time of the realm
Reality breaks me into pieces somewhat frightening
But I pull myself up nothing to me overwhelm

You may miss the every second of every moment
When I fall down and cannot get up to stand
But don’t worry about me breaking I’m only gently bent
I’m fine as long as there is a glimmer, a hint, a strand

Hope is the future of a wasted past’s happenings
Future is the hope of a today’s receding sands of the shore
Never give up on me as I ramble in blatherings
I’ll be here and there through the music of our hearts’ beat score

Lips intoxicate (A Poem)

The wind, finds me at my end.
Whether I survive and thrive, it’s up the tides I ride.
Sounds of chimes softly dampen my rhymes.
My mind is content to no longer vent, the energy spent.

Soft ocean waves beat away the fray on display.
Birds cry out in joy, like a bike gifted boy.
I cannot deny or lie that I spy beauty walk by.
Why delay or be afraid to speak of  the vision my mind’s way?

Dreams are what I have in sleep or awake.
I keep moving forward each day for attainment’s sake.
Do you think this drifting of my thoughts is a sign?
I’ve never been a drunk, but her lips intoxicate like sweet red wine.

Let’s connect.

The outlook of the future. Hmm . . . I think those words are almost the same.

As we are in a new month and a new season it’s time for a change. As you may have noticed, ever so slightly, my content is slowly changing. Moving forward I’ve decided that unless it is something I truly like you will not be seeing it. I always thought I was doing that and maybe I was. But my personal standards are higher now. With that being said, you might visit me and not see a brand new post for that day. I have plenty of posts for you to see, almost 700 now. To make it easier I might put the tag cloud back out so you might find things you could be interested in if you wish.

Sometimes people think they see a theme in my writing, my posts. There isn’t any. I like to write about love. I think that’s kind of cool really. I hear a song, just a few bars and the beat or something then clicks with me and I write a poem. Don’t worry, folks, Ronovan is okay. Until he’s dead, he’s doing fine. I have a firmer grasp on things than a lot of people in this world.

I hope you keep visiting even if the pickings become a little slimmer, but no more fluff. I consider some of what I have put out to be that. And as for my lists on Fridays, some of them have been pretty sad and the results have shown that, but then again, the ones I really felt passionate about got no results. Well, passionate and enjoying is what I am going to be about. So, hope you keep visiting and enjoy my offerings.

“Questions of Peace and Hope”-A poem

My poem for the day on Embracing a Wounded Soul. A lot of questions. Do you know the answers?
Ronovan

You are more than you are.

You may not know who you are

But you know who you’ve been

Never deny what you’ve become

Even if you consider your past a sin

What makes one search for love

What makes one search for peace

It’s the aching of the heart bone deep

That pain that seems to never cease

Shake the chains you have holding you down

Break them from your tender heart

Recognize them for what they are

They are your past, yes of you a part

Look at what you now see

No shackles holding you still

You’ve come this far so well

And you’ve done it by your own will

Some see you for your image

Longing for more than a touch

You’ve come not to know

You are worth beyond that so much

Taking one step each day

Reflecting on your deeds

Don’t dwell on your past

For you’ve other present needs

There is kindness in you that is noble

In every word and thought you share

Never doubt for a moment

That there is someone

In

This

World

To

Care

Jacob: Chapter 1 Part 1

Jacob

Jacob

by: Ronovan

Chapter 1 Part 1

Over 100 years since the last time and I’m going to miss it. There it is, just the beginning. At least I get to see that much. A lunar eclipse, a complete one, and I’ll be stuck inside having to choose between two worlds I still know nothing about.

I suppose that makes sense today. The first day I can remember had storms, but then do you really remember the first day of sunshine? But today is different. This is the last day I will get to see this view. Where does that jagged laser of lightening strike or does it even strike at all? Why am I up here at all? And most importantly where will I end up striking?

18 years of being taught two worlds and I don’t know which one to choose. Everyone else seems to know where they will land as they fall out of this sky that the Academy represents. But I don’t know. Not much longer and I will be forced to pick what the rest of my life will be ruled by, what the rest of my life’s thoughts will be ruled by.

I think therefore I am. Are we really taught to think though? We are given ‘facts’ from two philosophies without really knowing how to determine which one is correct. How do you know if something is right if you aren’t taught how to determine right from wrong? This is fact, no this is fact. Who do you believe?

From the top of the Academy tower I can see both worlds I must choose between. But neither have I been invited into to experience. How can I choose without knowing the reality of each? How do I know if either are reality? Give each the same word and they each give a different definition.

The headache magnifies. Each one has been greater than the last as this day has grown nearer. But I am not sure which pain is greater, that in my head or that in my body as I am twisted and wrenched about. How do the others make it seem so easy? I burn inside when there is nothing to fuel the fire. There is no food there to give the flames the energy to cause the burning that I feel. It has been days.

The wind hits me as the approaching storm pushes the air before it, and I can smell the dampness that will be here soon. What a perfect day to decide the rest of a life. I close my eyes and take a deep breath of the damp air.

“Jump,” a voice whispers.
