I can’t sleep, or eat, or even think about anything else!

I’m terribly confused, and I need your help.

I’m formatting my ebook into a paperback using the cover creator in CreateSpace, and I can’t decide on the colours.

The covers are in the same order as the questions.

Espresso – My top 3 lessons from my first week as a writer. By: Brett.

Well I have to say that this is an amazing article. It humbled me in many ways. Everyone visit this link to Brett’s page and Follow him. He’s starting a life as a writer and I have to say that if this article is a beginning, then I am so far behind him that I don’t deserve to have my name mentioned in it. So yes, I say again. Click and read and Follow and also follow him on Twitter as another show of support. @BrettsFuture We all need that little shot of double espresso sometimes.

Espresso

I sit here in restless repose forcing myself to relax. Mind aflutter, new venture afoot; uncertainty over my standing. In my heart the path is right. But that demon called fear casts a shadow before me.

I reflect upon the week of boldness I have just completed. There are lessons I’ve learned along the way, important reminders to guide my journey. Initial thoughts are important thoughts I tell myself as I struggle with my focus. Why is that I ask? Surely the lessons grow stronger with time, with greater experience? So I sit and contemplate why I feel this way.

Then I realize that these initial thoughts are like espresso, the initial injection in coffee each morning. That first rush after waking as you consider the long day stretched out ahead. You know that the cup you hold in your hand will not get you to the end. But that…

Cielos hit a blogging milestone ! 100+ followers. YAY for HER!

Everyone stop by Ways of Life and give a congrats and help her on her way to the next 100, 500, 1000. Wait a minute. She’s going to have more than me. Never mind. Stay right here and ignore this. Hrmph.

S Willson's avatarWays of life

About two month ago, I decided to start a blog.   I wasn’t even sure how to write/ post an article at first.  I had almost no hopes that anyone  would be stopping by my blog.  But that was then and now this happened!

followed-blog-100-1x

This is such a humbling experience.  Along the way I had the opportunity to interact with some truly talented people.  There are so many wise, humorous and  brilliant people on the  blogosphere and I get to learn so much from them  everyday.

This is the incentive to get me working even more hard on my blog.  All my followers and fellow bloggers are extremely dear to me and so are their opinions.  I want to get as much input from my followers as to what kind of content they expect and/or want me  to work more on as possible.  Every suggestion will be greatly appreciated.

Thank you again…

Being forgotten is good

Very nice poetry. I suggest people read this one. I like the recurrence of the ‘is good’ phrase. Excellent. Seriously, pay a visit read. Also flow Nishi as she her blog now shows her personality and I love what I’m learning about her in her articles of late.
Much Respect

Being Forgotten is good,

The plotters and the pillagers will leave you alone.

Oblivion is good,

The hurt and the pain will fade and you will be free.

To be called out is good,

The hiding can stop and the truth will liberate you.

Isolation is good,

You can hear yourself think.

Persecution is good,

You find your spirit and strength from within.

The end is good,

For it leads to the start of something new.

He said she said….

Nishi is really expanding on her writing and blogging style. That ‘My Best Friend’ about broke my heart, and now she nails the man woman relationship in the technological age.
You have to check it out and let her know how great she’s doing. 🙂 Although I don’t need any further writing competition around here. Never mind!

“Hey, what are you doing?” he asked

“Cooking” she said

“Are you watching that show on your iPad?”

“Hmm.. yes” she said

“Why cant you just do one thing at a time?”

“Because I CAN do both” she said

“Whatever” he said dismissively

“What are you doing?” she asked

“Working” he said

“And your headphones?”she asked

“What about them?

“They’re in your ear”

“Im listening to music” he said

“Let me see… and Facebooks open..”she said peering into the laptop screen

“Yea, so?”

“I rest my case”

Balloons – The Art Of Letting Go

I’ve been Reblogging some of Amanda’s best articles while she’s been on vacation. Best to me from her means funny. One thing about funny people is that they are funny because they are really also sensitive and deep people. I TRY to be funny, but fall flat most of the time.
This is an article that shows Amanda is more than a punch line or laugh track. This great advice. I’m serious. You really do need to read this one.

The Problematic Pimple

Amanda had a Pimple? On a Wedding Day? Say it isn’t so. Even more surprising were her disastrous solutions. Is an Egyptian Mummy wrap the solution? Read and find out. 🙂
@AmandaLyle86

‘My Best Friend’

What a wonderful story. It makes me wonder the source of the story. Is it just made up, the story of a daughter, friends, or did Nishi change the names to protect the tender hearted? You really must read this story and if your hear isn’t aching for the little girl by the end then you are heartless.
Much Admiration for This

“Ann and Florence BFFs forever”

Ann loved Florence..they went to school together, she shared the chewy brown sugar cookies and peanut butter sandwiches her mother used to lovingly pack for her with Florence. Everyday after school she would reserve a seat on the bus for Florence so they could sit together on the way home back from school and all this while they would chat and laugh..They were only in the first grade but they had so much to say to each other..Little girls learn the art of gossip pretty early so that by the time they are adults they become expert architects of the grapevine. Once home Ann would do her homework, watch TV have her dinner and go to bed all the while looking forward to meeting her best friend in school.

Night gave way to morning and Ann woke up to yet another school day. The first…

Monster-in-Law

Oh Lord, please don’t tell Amanda I reblogged this one. She tells it like it is about her ummm “Monster”-in-law, her words not mine. I bet some of us can relate. @AmandaLyle86

Connections to my Past

Connections to my Past

These irises have been in my family for generations. Lovingly cared for and nurtured. As they have grown in size over the years they have been split and shared. One bulb has turned into many to be enjoyed by all. When I see this flower, I see my aunt and my father from a time long ago in their gardens teaching me to surround myself with beauty. I see my Pap Pap and the lessons he has taught me. The Earth is a gift from God to nourish our souls if we take a moment, get a little dirty, and spend time together in the garden.

The two men in front of me sitting at the table in the bar couldn’t be more different. One was dressed in flamboyant clothes like he couldn’t spare a thought for what anyone cared. The other was dressed more conservatively, wearing a button down suit and an what looked like a Calvin Klein tie. They both looked very handsome despite  their very contrasting clothing styles, like just out of a movie. I was with my boyfriend. The man in the conservative clothes looked haggard.By what I could gather , he had lost his apartment to a devastating fire. The men ordered a pitcher of beer and started talking, The conversation soon turned to consumerism. It was pretty clear that one of them had pretty anti-consumerism views. The flamboyant guy , in a very passionate manner over a cigarette, started explaining to the other guy how materialism can end up consuming…
