Forever in dreams,
I am awakened by you,
In final failure.

The truth of it is,
Something you don’t want to know,
Is my love runs deep.
How deep you may ask,
Does it run into this man,
Whose truth is a search?
That truth is a loss,
Of something he cannot find,
Buried dark and deep.
But with truth in love,
I will return to the light,
So deep in us all.

It’s been some times since I did what a song means to me and I miss those days.
Songs that make you pause, bring hope, peace, melancholy. Some look at melancholy as a completely bad thing, but often times it’s the only time you have to experience peace and reflective moments. No, don’t get me wrong, this is not to say I am in a state of melancholy. I am simply giving possible emotions a song may bring.
I had another song in mind when while glancing through the extensive list I happened to glimpse Let it Be, written and sung by Paul McCartney with the Beatles.
Paul has said in interviews when asked the meaning of the lyrics, if they have Biblical meanings, that those who listen are to take from it what they like. Much like we here in our poetry communities say. In other words, he wrote the song for himself as he needed to after a dream about his departed mother and as for the definition of lyrics he will simply . . . Let it Be.
For me the song was once a beautifully simple song.,back in my pre-Christian days of not knowing of the Let it Be reference to May and her response to the angel Gabriel about her pregnancy, only one interpretation of the lyrics.
For me now, Let it Be does bring a sense of peace as I deal with with my Chronic pain, Chronic Fatigue, Osteoarthritis, and Amnesia. I am given more medications than I have ever even looked at in my life, I am certain, well almost certain. A bit of amnesiac humor only I can poke at myself with, thank you very much. I lose things daily and gain some only to be lost again.
I lose the memory of friends from Blog World that I have the feeling are of some significance but things don’t click. One day there, and a hard nights sleep or battle with a flare up and they are gone. Fibromyalgia combined with Concussion has brought about some unusual results.
I write, I blog, I live, I love children, I love inspiration, and for all that I cannot control I simply . . . Let it Be.
For trivia minded:
Paul wrote the song after a dream of his mother, Mary who had died of cancer when he was 14, during the time around the recording of The Beatles (The White Album).
The song became the title of the album that was released after McCartney’s announcement of his leaving The Beatles.
There are numerous versions of the song recorded by the Beatles for films, singles, album, and anthologies.
Wikiepedia notes that Kris Allen, Aretha Franklin, Brooke White, Katie Stevens, Boney M., Joan Baez, George Michael, Willie Nelson, Pearl Jam, David Bowie, Fiona Apple, Billy Ocean, Elvis Presley, Diana Ross, Status Quo, Seether, Stereophonics, Rod Stewart, Jennifer Hudson, B5, and Widespread Panic among others have covered the song. This being an eclectic sampling of how popular the song is.
I personally think it odd that the title track of the album is Let it Be and the band has broken up. I believe perhaps it was a message to the fans saying just Let it Be.
What does the song mean to you or what feeling does it bring? Jenna Willett of Jen’s Pen Den does a regular weekly post about music that inspires her during writing, what mood would this inspire for you?
When I find myself in times of trouble, Mother Mary comes to me
Speaking words of wisdom, let it be
And in my hour of darkness she is standing right in front of me
Speaking words of wisdom, let it be
Let it be, let it be, let it be, let it be
Whisper words of wisdom, let it be
And when the broken hearted people living in the world agree
There will be an answer, let it be
For though they may be parted, there is still a chance that they will see
There will be an answer, let it be
Let it be, let it be, let it be, let it be
There will be an answer, let it be
Let it be, let it be, let it be, let it be
Whisper words of wisdom, let it be
Let it be, let it be, let it be, let it be
Whisper words of wisdom, let it be
And when the night is cloudy there is still a light that shines on me
Shine until tomorrow, let it be
I wake up to the sound of music, Mother Mary comes to me
Speaking words of wisdom, let it be
Let it be, let it be, let it be, yeah, let it be
There will be an answer, let it be
Let it be, let it be, let it be, yeah, let it be
Whisper words of wisdom, let it be

I know many of you know Chris Graham The Story Reading Ape. Go check out his Book Cover Artist interview I did with him. Yes, he does that and you can see some of his covers.
RW: You are the Indie Authors best friend. That’s something many people know you as, but there is another aspect of your contribution to the Author world that some are not quite as familiar with. Tell us about how and why you came to create book covers? What was your first one?
CHRIS: My first cover was for the late Steve K. Smy, ‘Shade of Evil’, the first of a new series that Steve intended to publish, this was quickly followed by two more for ‘Evil Under the Circle’ and ‘A Darkness in Amazonia’, unfortunately, Steve died shortly after publishing this last one, however, based on notes left behind by Steve, his son Damien has published one more book of a new Fantasy series (asking me to do the cover and a map) and already has the cover plus maps from me for a second book:

I am seriously excited about this new direction the challenge is taking. Some great people involved have made suggestions and I have listened. I have looked at the great photography of everyone and decided I limited people in what they could do. Then one suggested the name PhotoKu, or at least I think they did. Now one said why not give a verb and a noun as the challenge instead of two nouns. In all honesty I didn’t even realize I had started doing that.
The rules are simple: For how to write a Haiku in English and using the 5/7/5 syllable pattern click here. I know you will be using photography but you need to have the Haiku in words at some point.
I prefer no words or numbers of any kind to appear in the images you use. This includes sign language . . . of any kind. I believe this forces one to be more creative.
Below is my original example of how to do a haiku with images. People have become a lot more creative with using their photography. This is just to show you a basic layout and give you an idea of how things might look. Check out our previous participants to see how it’s really done.
Visit Blog it or Lose it and Through the Eye of Bastet to see how you might can do this.
This is an example of one I created.
The Haiku was:
Moon Shadow Dancers
Heartbeats Stumble, falling in
Love Infinity
I know, not the best but it was better then the first one I posted.
Here’s the challenge;
I will read it and comment on it. Once I comment come get the badge.

Badge provided by Me for this season.
For a refresher or how to write Haiku in English click here. But you can use whatever Haiku style you want to. As long as you, do a Haiku.
Something to keep in mind about a Haiku. Usually it is elemental in nature, but I don’t stick to that. There are two things I do like to see and they are; 1) Haiku that can be broken into two sentences with the middle line of the three lines being the commonly used part and 2) Opposite meanings in the first and last sentences.
I have links that will help you out. Remember for Haiku in English the total syllables are 5 for the first line, 7 for the second, and 5 for the last. I don’t really hold people to that for this but if you want to do it in the 5/7/5 manner, the traditional way, then try that. One link I have for you is . . . howmanysyllables.com. Simply type in the word and find out how many syllables it has. Also for synonyms and antonyms go to thesaurus.com, I find it useful for finding a word to fit the meaning when syllables are not working out right.
This weeks two words to use in some form, meaning you can use another word that means the same thing are:
Do you have a Twitter Handle? Do I know it? Let me know!
(I hate doing deadlines, but it takes quite a while to complete the rewind.)

The prompts they participants COULD use if they wished to were Bottles & Light. The prompts are only if you cannot come up with an idea.
Michelle (Nato) Lunato of Chasing Life and Finding Dreams: The beautiful glass and light used are marvelous. Nato is a definite great addition to our family. She also has her site Michelle Lunato Photography. Nato also participates in the Haiku Poetry Prompt Challenge.
Georgia of Through The Eyes of Bastet : I loved the light through the bottles. I knew I could count on Georgia to be here for the first official PhotoKu.
Jen of Blog It or Lose It: I like the sunset photos and where they came from in this one. Always nice to see that personal touch and have something to throw you back to a time. You’ll know what I mean when you read it.
See y’all next time,

18. Old enough to vote, be in the military and well that’s about it. Dude, where did the fun go, right? Oh well. Whoever said growing up was fun didn’t know what they were talking about. Hmm, or is that “Who said life was fair”? Anyways, it is now time for the
Sorry, no light machines or smoke machines. The budget can’t handle it. Hugh threw a tea and coffee party without my knowing it and all the funds are gone. How he got into the RW account I have no idea. I think Cyril must have been involved, there are escarguts on the receipt. I really hope that’s a typo.
Just a reminder, all you had to do to get into the Rewind was write a Haiku and somehow let me know, either with a copy of your link in the comments or a ping back.
The prompt words were Stress & Hold.
Remember as well to follow the members of our little community here on their sites and Twitter. Show and share the love, right?
Now on with the show.
The Stop Watch Award goes to . . .Dun Dun Dun!
Ruth of Mad Meandering Me: Weighty matters… Two weeks in a row. Wow, Quick fingers from the Mad Meandering one. No, apparently she did not peek at my scales, or into my closet. I still wonder though. Also Killer Stress… is more serious and something else I can identify with. No idea what I am talking about? Then you need to read her Haiku. Dun Dun Dun!
Kate of Dazzling Whimsy: A Glass of Water. No, the Haiku isn’t about a glass of water but once you visit and read her post you will get it. I need to drink more water I think. Maybe that would help. A RONOVAN’S CHOICE! @17katelee
T.A. Wyatt of Finale to an Entrance: Imitated Bliss. You need to take a look at this one. The comments show one interpretation while I decided to go another direction. I think a successful poem of any kind is one that allows the reader to go where their thoughts will. Remember to check out this author’s books at Amazon. @finaletoanEntranc
Becca of On Dragonfly Wings with Buttercup Tea: Witch of November. I think the name says it all. Is the Witch of November at your house yet? Go by and let Becca know. And no, this is not about Narnia. Also we have Sequestered Dove, which at first made me think of a pigeon having jury duty. But in truth this one is A RONOVAN’S CHOICE! @rgbickerstaff
Battered Wife Seeking Better Life: Peace of Mind. Holding in things can be such a burden that when you do finally let them go peace of mind follows. I hope one day for a Haiku titled Happy Days Are Here Again. @BWseekingBL
Florence of Rambling On: Mania. Knowing what I think is behind this Haiku I have to say I find humor in it. But it can be interpreted many ways. Humor or the extreme opposite. I think those intense emotional moments in life can be seen in the opposite extremes. Three thoughts came to mind as I read it. Normally Florence comes up with a Haiku that drops Barry White in the cassette player. See what you make of this one. @FTThum
Cyril of Cyril Bussiere: Hold Fast. Good advice. ‘Nuff said. A RONOVAN’S CHOICE! Also check out Cyril’s Books on Amazon. @CyrilBussiere
Michelle (Nato) Lunato of Chasing Life and Finding Dreams: Stress Binds, Faith Frees. Another good advice Haiku. I seem drawn to those today. And no she is not A RONOVAN’S CHOICE! just because she is a fellow Georginian. (I know that’s not the word but I have fun with words.) @michellelunato
Hugh of Hugh’s Views & News: Hold on to Go Another of my naming of the Haiku for Hugh. I had thought of TwoFer cause it was a Two for One sale but I refrained. Or did I? Hugh’s first offering has a great image to go with it. Great presentation and I am still thinking about its meaning. This is one of those that depending on who you are you will take away totally different meanings. Haiku #1 is A RONOVAN’S CHOICE! @RobertHughes05
Angie of Angie Does Until She Doesn’t: Foxy As I look at the name Angie picked I am worried to go and read. But I must, right? Whew, it wasn’t what you guys were thinking. Although the image might just catch some of y’all a little off guard. Go check it out. @mrsreadmorbooks
Marigold of Versus Bulb: Hiding in the Hold. Marigold starts off with a Haiku with the words of the prompt and then ventures into a story using Haiku stanzas. I enjoy them a lot. I’ve done some before but not as well as this. Go check this one out. @MarigoldDicer
Steven S. Walsky of Simplicity Lane: Your Mind Between. It took me a brief moment to realize the image I was seeing then I was so excited. On the fun and the feeling of stress and the joy all rolled into one. A RONOVAN’S CHOICE! Just a reminder of to check out Steven’s books at Barnes & Nobles as well as other sites noted on his blog such as Smashwords.
A.C. of File Cabinet Ramblings: The Oak Tree. I think everyone can probably relate to this one and probably have an old memory come to mind, thus it’s A RONOVAN’S CHOICE! @elliott_ac
Colleen of Silver Threading: First Frost’s Embrace. Great Haiku and image. Very good use of font to emphasize the word usage I think. @ColleenChesebro
Kimberly of K.S. Fause: Relinquish. I see a similarity in message I think to Cyril’s. Maybe. Although not exactly. I’ve read so many Haiku today that I am going HaikuCrazy. Beautiful image used. Apparently she loves Hugh, at least that’s what I get from the comments. Very good message about the effects of stress. @ksfause I think there really should be some efforts amongst the community to do some sort of greeting cards or something.
Elke of Writing in Devizes: I think many of you miss out on Elke’s offerings. I have to say this weeks images are fun and we have two. I will calm them Pets Enemies would have worked as well considering those in the pictures. I love the first image a lot. I thought they were statues at first as around the city where I live there are statues of the local University mascot painted in various fashions much like these images. Very fun time. A RONOVAN’S CHOICE!
Elizabeth of Tea & Paper: Hold Tight. I am thinking of limbs in this one as I consider the Haiku. Loved the photo this week. I so enjoy seeing parts of the people we know and into their lives. Even if they are frozen people. One last thought of Elizabeth’s Haiku-If I were a tree what tree would I be? A writing desk.
Canaf of Faithful Homesteader: The Break Up. I thought we were losing a member of the community at the sight of this title but no, simply something we should all do. A RONOVAN’S CHOICE!
Faith Unlocked: Strength In Love, Kindness And Truth. Everyone check this one out, remember it each day and live it always. A RONOVAN’S CHOICE! @FaithUnlocked
Carol of Mama Cormier: The Interview. I think her image usage does fit the title for sure. I imagine everyone has felt something like that on an interview. @carol_cormier
I of course gave my own offering up this week. Although I put forth an example each week with the challenge I feel as though I need to also put out another, this one I called Lovers.
The closing Haiku for this weeks Challenge words?
Urgency of touch,
As passion pounds its rhythm,
Grasp loves heart gently.

You know when I started writing these Sunday Thoughts and agreeing with myself to use whatever verses came up in my Bible Verse Generator I knew it might be difficult at times. God likes to make me think real deep at times. I’ll just put it that way. Today I’m thinking deep.
I try to be good. I fail. I fail every day, in some way. Sure I might do good in this way one day but then the next day I blow it. I stumble. I try to be the good Christian, but I stumble. Yeah, I realize I will never be perfect here on earth. Only Jesus ever was. I wish all Christians realized that. I wish non-Christians realized Christians didn’t have to be perfect nor thought of ourselves as perfect. But hey, things are the way they are. Doesn’t mean we can’t change them. Maybe today you can help start some changing.
I’ll tell you how difficult today’s verses are for me to get just right in explaining. Or getting thoughts from. This is like my fourth or fifth version of this. I think part of the reason I’m having a problem is because I do a daily Christian study and I just did it right before this so I am in that same mind. So let me take a moment and get out of that mode of mind. (Yes, I am actually doing all of this as I do it.)
Do you remember what it was like to be a child? I’m not talking about playing in the yard or riding your bike. I’m talking about how you thought. How you felt. It’s almost impossible to capture that isn’t it. In today’s verses Jesus tells he disciples to do just that or they won’t get into Heaven. And then he gives a warning.
1At that time the disciples came to Jesus and asked, “Who, then, is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven?” 2 He called a little child to him, and placed the child among them. 3 And he said: “Truly I tell you, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven.
5 And whoever welcomes one such child in my name welcomes me. 6 “If anyone causes one of these little ones—those who believe in me—to stumble, it would be better for them to have a large millstone hung around their neck and to be drowned in the depths of the sea
You know the disciples always seemed to wonder who were going to be the big guys in heaven. And we only have some of the times they asked about it. Can you imagine how tiresome that must have gotten. Jesus having to repeat himself over and over? Well God did it all through the Old Testament, didn’t He?
Jesus basically tells them to be like children and depend on their Father, believe Him, follow Him, learn from Him, and give no thoughts of what greatness is.
People sometimes wonder about the whole drowning statement. What does Jesus mean by this? Think of it like this; you have a child and someone causes them to do something bad, say drugs, get drunk and I mean a child, a little kid. What would you do to that person?
How what Jesus is saying is it would be better for that person to have died from drowning rather than to have done something that would have caused him to face the anger and rage of the Father.
You force drugs in my son, and well . . . I’m a Christian, but I’m not perfect. I can imagine my rage at that. God’s rage would be so much more than that, beyond our imagining. And just think, my son is one of God’s children.
But well, I know what is going on for real. The enemy is at work. He is using others to make things happen. People aren’t born with their lives planned out to be this or that. Things happen along the way that make things turn out the way they do. I would like to say I could forgive anything. God gave everyone the chance at forgiveness.
I’m not God. I can forgive a lot of things in this world done by people because I know the truth of what’s behind it. But, it would be best that you strap a car around your neck and throw yourself in the ocean before I got to you.
For the enemies of Jesus, and really I can’t understand why anyone would not embrace his teachings and ideas, but for his enemies, your millstone is around your neck right now. Lucky you there is a sword that can cut it away. Some call it a tree, some a cross, some might see it as a sword.
I didn’t intend to get preachy today. I never do really. I have a site for a bit of the preachy, although I don’t really get preachy with it. (Why do I have Will Smith singing in my head?) But really today was about not caring about being the greatest in this or that. Be the best that you can be. Don’t worry about all of that glory stuff. Seriously, do your best. That’s what I tell my son. Do I want him to have A’s on his report card? Of course. But I tell him just to do his best. If I see him come home with a bad grade and I know he studied, I’m good with it. Bad grades happen. I mean you could ask ‘B’ that if he were on here.
Well that’s the end of this rambling nonsense today. Til next week, God bless you and pray daily. Start out your day with some quiet time with God to start that day off on the right foot. Trust me, it helps.

Yesterday I wrote an article about why people are still blogging. I have a reason you should be. however I also mentioned how my blog views had slipped and asked for some feedback. I think that turned into the purpose of the blog. The thing is, yes my views have decreased, but I’m not in any danger of like being unemployed. For one I don’t get paid to do this. (Pause for chuckles.)
(Continue) BUT really, I’m All Right, Don’t nobody worry about me.
(Wait for everyone to stop gopher dancing.)
(Continue) I came into Blog World without any views and I can stay in Blog World without any views. Yeah, I like them. And seriously I am good with my number of my views, if not I know how to increase them.
I asked people to give me reasons they might see as to why THEY think I might have fewer views. I was waiting to see who chimed in and what advice I received. You see, I know the reasons.
Does this mean I don’t have a lot of views? I don’t really know what a lot of views means. I would like to think that I do okay. I mean I know what some sites get as I have been in the background working on them and I am higher and lower depending on the site.
Do I plan to do something to try and raise my numbers up? No. You see if you try to do something to raise your numbers, people know it. I pretty much have had fun my entire blogging except that I did feel a need to put out at least three post per day. Why? I wanted to put out a variety of content for different possible visitors.
Some might point to my new site as being an energy eater. Most of you know I have a limited amount of energy, although I always seem to be around. Pain is pain and if you give in you get no gain. Right? Right. And yes LitWorldInterviews is taking a lot of energy out of me. I actually need an assistant to help format some of my work over there. Formatting is my hard part. My hands don’t work so well. I am working on getting voice to text to work so I can ‘write’ by speaking. Yes, that’s how bad my hands are.
Don’t get me wrong. I am not complaining about how busy LWI is. I mean two author interviews per week, a current series on Author Presence, Book Reviews by four people out in one week, plus Feature Articles. Who even knew that would happen? And I’m still not doing all that I want to do there. Only one of me.
Well, sorry I spoke about LWI, I am trying not to do that so much here on my personal blog but it is part of my life, and there is stuff going on there that I think some of you here on RonovanWrites would like to know about. But I just wanted people to know that I am fine and don’t plan to do anything different. I am happy with my blog and what is happening. I still have more than enough views. And I know the events that cause them to be low at times.
Much Love and Respect to all you reading

(If you want to know the tune or the beat that went through my mind as I was writing this, listen to the beginning of Wrecking Ball. It’s Miley Cyrus song but I saw the Glee version on Youtube, so avoided her sexual fixation with a sledgehammer. To be honest, it’s a powerful song and performance by her and the girl from Glee. Girl’s got talent, she just chooses to waste it for a few years while she’s young. Below is it. You will get the rhythm eventually. Or stick with what you’ve got.)

Considering for some reason I thought it was Friday today, I’m actually doing better with my Lit World Interview blog responsibilities than I thought. But that site is primarily about Authors of Novels. Yes, it is called Lit World but I wanted to share something here that is a big part of my personal blog, my home, RonovanWrites.
The following is originally posted on Sundress Publications and you may click the link to go to that site. And you definitely should to see everything they have.
Sundress Publications Seeking
Political Poetry for Anthology
In September 2014, NPR writer and critic Juan Vidal wrote an essay whose titular question, “Where Have All the Poets Gone?” provided a platform for various musings regarding the political state of contemporary American poetics. According to Vidal, “For centuries, poets were the mouthpieces railing loudly against injustice. They gave voice to the hardships and evils facing people everywhere… What has happened?” He further suggested that poets writing today have failed to create work that carries the same “weight” as the poems written by their literary forefathers.
Should American poets still be trying to write “Howl”? Are Neruda, Kerouac, Baraka, and the rest of the Beat Generation the only viable prototypes for political literary expression in American culture? How does the influx of identities, voices, and life experiences that are now expressed in mainstream American letters potentially create and communicate new political vision(s) — vision that may sound or appear different from Ginsberg’s poetic/political tour de force, but is no less necessary, compelling, challenging, or iconoclastic? What do we even mean when we talk about the weight of a political work? How is that weight both carried and expressed by poetry today?
To address these questions, Sundress Publications is now accepting poetry submissions for a new anthology on the politics of identity, to showcase the substantial amount of political writing that is being done today. This print anthology, edited by Fox Frazier-Foley and Erin Elizabeth Smith, will include multimedia features: we are open to submissions in audio/visual media (e.g., video files of ASL poetry, audio files of spoken word poetry, etc).
This anthology is looking for submissions that contemplate ideas about race, gender, sexuality, religion, disability, socioeconomic status, educational background, different life experiences, etc. and how our identities shape and complicate how we see ourselves in the world.
To submit, please send 3-5 poems and a bio (no longer than 75 words) to anthology@sundresspublications.com. Previously published work will be considered. If you send previously published work, please note where it first appeared.
Submissions for this project are rolling.
Deadline: December 31, 2014, at 12:00 midnight PST.
Well that’s it. A poetry Anthology for all you poets to sink your teeth into. If you enter, comment below so we can all cheer you on. You don’t have to comment, but I can always send me a reply in that comment form on my About Me page and I’ll pray for you to do your best. Doesn’t mean you will be guaranteed selection but I will pray for your best work to be done.
So all you poetically minded folk out there, get started.

Have you figured out why your blog is important to the universe and you need to keep going with it?
Oh be honest, you really have no idea. None of us do until an aha moment happens. No I do not intend to break into song “Take On Me” and think of the greatest music video ever.
Okay so perhaps I did that last part. Now back to why I am here. Actually literally why I am here.
I’ve noticed in recent times my viewership has started dying away.
Does this worry me? I have to actually sit myself down and step back to think that through. That in itself should tell you if I am worried. Ultimately the answer is no. You see I think I know why it’s happened and it’s a rather sad reason. But I’m okay with that.
But I still serve a purpose. You know as long as you help or inspire one person, your blog is worth it. To be honest if all I had going here was my various Haiku challenges each week and my Sunday Thoughts I suppose I would feel like I was doing something in the world, something more than I ever thought I would do.
That’s what you have to figure out. Is there someone that has commented on your blog that you helped them in some way? If you helped one, don’t you think you’ve helped others? Those others who haven’t spoken?
You might be saying that you’ve never had anyone say that. There is something I’ve discovered while blogging, or maybe two, okay maybe three somethings.
I imagine many of you can agree with all three of those, if not then I know you can say yes to at least one of them. So when you feel like you can’t blog or it’s not doing any good and then you remember that you wanted to blog to change things in the world, you have. You just have to realize what part of the world you’ve changed, even it is you that has changed.
Does this mean I will change anything I am doing? Who knows. My main goal is to be happy.

Non Accidental Events Lead to Intentional Good
by: Ronovan
Sometimes you just don’t know how you ended up where you are. I’ve been in many ‘places’ over my many years and somehow they end up being connected in one way or the other. Oh, I don’t mean by actually connected in the sense that one thing knew the other but in that there was a reason one happened and ended and the next began.
I had an interesting life growing up. I was born of two people who were picking oranges in the groves of Florida during a time of free love, or maybe at the end of that era really. My father from Tupelo, MS. who was a drummer, guitar playing singer who drove a truck and recorded at Sun Records in Memphis, TN. Yes that Sun Records, and yes, that’s where Elvis recorded. And no, he wasn’t Elvis.
He was also part of the Southern Mafia which led me into a few interesting situations. Ever been 3 years old and been chased down dirt roads in Florida by a man with a gun? No? I didn’t think you had. How about being back home in Tupelo, MS and having to be slung around in a truck doing a 180 because of some ‘men’ that had blocked the road to stop your father? No? Well then you didn’t get shot at and the windows shatter either.
There were other things that happened as well, all in the span of the years up to my 2nd grade in school. That’s when I ‘arranged’ for a girl on the playground to see the black belt mark across my back and run to the teacher. I had made a promise not to tell, and I was a good boy and kept my promises. I didn’t ‘tell’ anyone. After the police and social workers finished with me that day I never saw my bio father again. He and my mother were divorced anyway, so no great loss.
But through that and a series of not accidental events, because I know that all things are used for the good of life, I ended up in a situation where I worked with young people and helped many with home lives that were rough. Even the arrangement of time to work with them was an obvious non accidental event.
Even today, being here in the blog world and meeting new people, encouraging and being encouraged has been another non accidental event out of a life changing event. Good comes out of everything, no matter how bad it is, it only remains a negative influence on me/you if you let it be such.

Losing time for no reason other than pain riddled life
Why have I been given this disease of grief and strife
Have I been punished for a life I don’t know of
Is the enemy torturing me so I deny that from above
Weathered bones and depleted nerves
I wander through the days wondering what this life serves
Pushing my cart of rotting dreams gone bad
Longing for things that I wish I had
The lightning strikes through skull and soul
I lie awake nights as the time slowly takes its toll
I arise each day to be the happy one
As I dread the appearance of the dawn breaking sun
But who will be the one to carry on the days cheer
If I am the one that decides to no longer be here
Yes, I am at times lower than the low
But I know I must pick myself up and continue to go
I am the encourager, the uplifter these are my gifts
My goal each day is to keep people on the path of dreams, no drifts
I have thought my life goal was to share my words to the extreme
But now as I write I know I am here to help you with your dream

There are times in my life I die a little, but then you smile.
You never try to be something other than you.
I long so much to spend time with you for just a little while.
There are rivers, forests and a continent between us.
I would walk through them all if I thought the moment was right.
Do my questions, my thoughts, my sharings cause a fuss?
Please tell me now before I continue too much and send you into a flight.

Be humble in your ways every day
Boasting and bragging are arrogance
You may not know the path you take
But pride in ways has no relevance
Do what you do with a knowledge of grace
For you were given talents before you were born
Their recognition and nurturing up
Are rarities in this world where a crown is made of thorn
Continue in this way and your life will reveal
You are more than even you can believe
As you throw off those stresses and pressures
And hold onto that which will relieve
Be humble my friends
Be thankful for your gift
For as sure as you become arrogant
You and they will be broken by a rift
I was prideful in my former years. I made note of what happened in my life. I made a prideful statement and not long after, my world turned upside down. No, I do not think a punishment was sent down to give me a lesson. What I do think happens is in our pride and arrogance perhaps we do foolish things that bring about the humbling of us. I advise all today not to wait for those humbling moments, humble yourself now.
Much Respect
