Odd One Out

Never the one chosenBlossom on tree

Never the one choice

Never the one chased

Never the one charmed

Ever the one alone

Ever the one afar

Ever the one aware

Ever the one alarmed

The one hurting

The one heaving

The one haunting

The one howling

Battered

Broken

Bound

Bent

Rising

Reveling

Realizing

Reinventing

Now the one embraced

Now the one enthroned

Now the one empowered

Now the one elegantly…alone and okay

Inspired by several offerings I’ve read today about things not owed and being that odd girl out. One a more detailed piece and the other a photograph. I think all people at some point and many creative people especially can relate to those two offerings.

oh my lover

Music TunesI don’t want to say your name

I don’t want to play your game

I feel a fool

Do you

Trouble before we start

Never can we part

But we do

We do

Never was I so into a woman like you

Never

Never was I so in love like with you

Oh Never

Never was I meant to be but with you

Only you

Never will I be for anyone but . . . you

oh oh oh oh

Features blur in sight

I’m losing my might

So into you

Oh you

Let’s play the game

I’m slowly insane

So are you

We two

Never was I so into a woman like you

oh noo

Never was I so in love like with you

oh you

Never was I meant to be but with you

no no no nooo

Never will I be for anyone but . . . you

oh my lover

Keeper of the heart, keeps us apart . . . but I’m . . . in you . . .we two. oh my loverrrrr

Inspiration

Wicked Game by Chris Isaak was covered by Phillip Phillips a fellow Southern boy. I had the words flowing through my had being in a certain somewhat melancholy mood. Then I heard Phillips’ version. The tune and rhythm was it. If you you like you can click the link to get an idea of the sound.   http://youtu.be/grqrlGwoOU0

Arrival

Velvet kisses down your spineasian_woman_rose_petals

Halting breaths encourage me more

Your body quivers

As I glide to further explore

My hand in your hair

As my teeth take hold

Your hips begin to move

As I become more bold

Skin so soft to my touch

As my fingertips feel along delicately

My own voice sounds

And I become engulfed in waves of your sexuality

Your hips do move

My body does glide

With one swift move

I have arrived . . .

Things I Need to Know From Women

Curiosity killed the cat, I just hope it doesn’t run over Ronovan. There are things I wonder about. Some are important and some are not. Having a blog I get to ask these questions without the fear of being damaged bodily. Although I am certain I may hear about it through Twitter DMs, About page message system, emails, and even facebook messages. I am entirely too accessible.

Things I Need to Know From Women

Are bra’s comfortable at all?

The mere thought of having to wear a harness freaks me out. It’s like having to hook up a guide dog for service. I just can’t imagine. Come to think of it, I am happy I can’t image. I have a great imagination but brassiere wearing isn’t a great image apparently. At least not on me. I will stop at that with this one.

Do you like g-string undies?

I just had to ask this. A friend said she only wore them with certain outfits because of VPL. I had to google VPL, I thought her auto correct had malfunctioned. Shoelaces for undies seems so uncomfortable. Yes, men seem to get a thrill out of the idea but have them wear them and see how long that lasts. I just threw up a little in my mouth. Personally I would rather a woman wear those cheekies, I think they are called. They are probably just as uncomfortable but at least they leave something to the imagination and to me are just sexy.

Is drawing with a pencil around your eyes fun?

If I had taken a pencil and started drawing around my eyes with it as a child I would have been punished. Even little girls would have been. But it’s a huge business for adults. Eye liner, mascara . . . have you ever thought how scarey mascara sounds?

Do you like the feminine product commercials?

I just can’t imagine sitting there with the family and suddenly certain commercials come on and  my son looks at me and begins to ask questions. I am trying to think of a man product that would be similar. I am sure there should be but men aren’t willing to admit it. I suppose hemorrhoid cream would be the closest. But I just don’t see how anyone would want their bodily functions, which are beyond their control spread across the television screen.

Do you like products that change colors and the like just to attract your dollars?

Do you really care what color your pens are? I even read that one college in Canada was banning various colored ink due to their being racist or discriminatory. Do you prefer your ink to be pink or is okay with you if it’s blue?

If a man has a nose hair waving at you on a date, do you still kiss him?

You like the fellow, he’s been nice and sweet and you have thought about that goodnight moment at the door. Then on approach the nose hair waves at you. If you kiss him it might even touch you. What do you do? What . .  . do . . . you . . . do?

If a blind date goes badly do you hate the friend that set you up?

It happens. I know none of the ladies reading this ever had to go on a blind date. But let us say hypothetically you did go on one, what would you do if it went badly?

a) Forgive the friend

b) Disown the friend

c) Get revenge and set said friend up with the worst possible date you can find (Sorry, I’m not medically allowed to drive yet.)

Would you date a friend?

The killer happens. You go out with . . . a friend. Is it possible? Can it work? What if it doesn’t? Can you remain friends after having . . . you know . . . done the deed . . . kissed? It happens and if it goes unchecked the friends just keep going down the path to marriage and so on and so forth without that in love aspect. Would you date a friend?

Do you feel discriminated against in grocery stores with the shelves so high?

So you are elevatededly challenged and you approach the soft drink aisle. And of course what you want is on the top shelf. I know a lady of 68 who stepped on the bottom shelf to reach the bottles. She is maybe a hair over 5 feet tall. The bottle slipped and came down on her head. Now if it had been the side of the bottle it might have been okay. The problem  is it came down straight bottle cap first. Is it rational to have the shelves so high when you can never find anyone to help? I don’t know how many times I’ve had to help people get things down in stores. Is it a form of discrimination or insensitivity law?

What is the biggest turnoff in a relationship to you?

Not much I can say here. This one is really up to y’all to speak on.

Those are just some of the things that came to mind recently that I need to know from women.

Much Respect

The Lost Minded Heart

The Lost Minded Heart

Oh this mind I have.

It seeks to tear itself from my skull,

And scatter its sanity across the wind.

It denies me all things that I crave.

Long sequenced words to form thoughts,

Escape behind a mesh door, seen but unattainable.

This mind knows it is a piercing pain of storm and fury.

How I hate it.

It laughs and runs and races and calls and shouts and screams and twists.

Do I mind?

Ha! What mind do I have to mind with?

But how does one without a mind each day continue on?

How does the mindless give, how does it give hope?

How does the less minded give encouragement?

The Lost Mind still has heart.

There was a Time

One man

Second chances

Three days

My life it changed

I’m free

To stand before you now

And proclaim

My life belongs to you

When I write poetry here on my blog/site I tend to reflect on the current existence of my life. Some of  you can pick up on what that is. But there was a time I used to write songs, songs with a different message. Messages of hope and praise and love. I found these lyrics today from a time long ago. But even though the lyrics are old, the meaning is the same, and can never be changed.

Lost: Death of a Creative Mind

Depressed Man in Dark Room

Why did you do it

Take my mind away

I can’t even maintain focus

Fore even one day

You drove the lightning

Deep into my brain

My creations out of my reach

Slowly driving me insane

I once could write with ease

The thoughts were defined with clarity

You took it and shook it

Now my mind reads with jealousy

Short words in short rhymes

Are all I can manage

Because of the pain

Of this body with damage

I had a thought

It came yesterday

Then I fell asleep

That’s when you took it away

Don’t worry, no Sir

This is not me making a complaint

It’s not casting blame

It’s just me losing my restraint

I’ll be okay tomorrow

After the sun rises

When the moon is gone

My world is full of surprises…again

Asphalt and Inheritance

cropped-cropped-lost-mind-michael-h.jpg

Why, why, why?

Is this time to be torn by the pattern woven by men?

Do lives creep silently to catch a breath just for a moment in a light that will never set upon them?

Hurling through concrete hoops to land on melted asphalt to be trapped by the creations they have made.

Can they complain?

Do they have a right?

They made it.

They were the forces that shoved it down the throats of others.

Helplessness has been rewarded with gloating over the fall of the mighty movers of all.

The meek and the earth,

They shall inherit.

But is the earth our home or heaven?

The meek of what shall inherit which?

Rose & Ghun Episode One: You want me to do what?

rose&ghun header

“Ow,” I mumbled.

“Does that hurt, pretty baby?” I stared up out of one eye at the woman above me. Perfect lipstick and hair, nails still shimmering in the light of night, and brandishing a tire iron she had just used on my ribs.

“Only a little, Cornelia,” I managed. “I guess you aren’t what you used to be.”

“Errrngh!”

I’m not very smart…sometimes. That’s the idea that flowed through my head as my body rolled along behind it. The pavement was cold on my face. I smiled and my lip stung from the cracks in it. “Broke a heel,” I said. “Should have stuck with the iron.”

She stalked toward me. It’s amazing how beautiful people can look so hideous when evil twisted them from the inside. As for me on the asphalt . . . if it had just been Cornelia things would have been fine, but she never traveled alone. Part of her posse, gang, whatever gorgeous women criminal types called their hired thugs was present.

“Not gonna move, purdy boy,” said Larry.

“That’s ‘pretty baby’,” I said.

“Yeah, pretty baby, Larry,” said Justin.

Good, I got the names right. Big sacks of meat all looked the same through a swollen eye…in the night…in the street…on your face, points for me. Now what? Only one thing I could do.

“unnnnhhh,” was all Larry managed as my heel connected with his inseam. I rolled like a log along the street whRose1ile Justin paused to glance at his partner. Can’t run, then roll.

“Get him!”

By the time Justin turned at Cornelia’s order I had made it to my feet and was running…hobbling or maybe it was skipping. The only concern I had was that I was fast enough. Gary’s was not far and if I could make it there, then I might have a chance.

“Ain’t happenin’,” said Justin. I could hear boots pounding the street. Why do big men move faster these days? Why am I saying ‘these days’? I’m not even middle aged. But with the life I led maybe I was middle aged.

I could see Gary’s Grill’s sign lit up not even a block away. But sucking wind and dancing ribs were not going to allow me to get there. My feet kept running into the air as my head and shoulders came to a sudden stop.

“Aw, pretty baby got caught,” said Cornelia.

Justin held me in his arms like a constrictor, not that he needed to. I was spent. Cornelia walked slowly up and smiled. She had brought the tire iron. “I warned you not to take the case, now didn’t I?”

I couldn’t answer and wouldn’t have even if I could have taken a breath.

“That building fire was an accident. That’s what the insurance company is going to find out, and you are not going to disagree, are you, pretty baby?”

“wwww”

Cornelia glanced over my shoulder and nodded. The arms loosened slightly. At least I could breathe again.

“Now what did you want to tell me?”

“Why do you call me pretty baby?”

The slap jerked my head sideways and my neck popped. Why do women take these crazy classes where they exercise by fighting? That was a pro shot. Rib pain, the constrictor had returned.

Fingers pulled my hair and my face lifted to hers. “Drop the case or else,” she said. She leaned in close to my ear. I felt her breath and could smell her perfume. “Drop the case, Trevor. I don’t want this to get worse,” she ended in a whisper.

She stepped back and nodded at Justin. I was slammed to the pavement and couldn’t move. I saw them walk away. It wasn’t a bad sight. Justin leaving was a good thing, and even in the condition I was in…well…Cornelia was Cornelia, evil or not.

“And I was coming to you for help.” I slGhunowly rolled over onto my back and looked up into the face of another woman.

“What can I do for you?” I groaned.

“Not die for starters.”

“Working on it. What else?”

“Need you to help me kill the man that killed my sister.”

How do things get this bad this fast?

Moments are Worth

Ron Overlook 2

There are delicate moments in time

They are fragile in their forming

And in their care

We carelessly disregard their existence

What happens when your moments are shattered

When they are taken and broken and battered

When you have none to even hold onto

When cracks are formed for them to escape through

We take our precious pieces for granted

Never giving them a second thought

We rely on them to be there

But one day an attempt to find might be for naught

Have I loved

Do I have friends

Do I have someone who loved me

Will they find me in the end

What if they don’t reach out

What if I continue to drift

I will never even know

What pieces I have missed

Moments are worth remembering if they are worth having

Take heed of what you do with them

For in a  split second of time

You just might lose . . .

Blogging Tips: 3 More Ways to Increase Your Views . . . the easy way.

I’m a fraud.

I’m a fake.

I’m a liar by mistake.

I’m a spinner.

No complaint.

Hope this doesn’t make you faint.

(If the rhythm feels familiar you may recall a song by Meredith Brooks that was quite popular back in the mid 1990s. I just put my own words to it.)

Do you ever get the impression a blog site must be old and the blogger has years of blogging experience? People have said that to me about my site and experience. My experience has nothing to do with the age of  my blog, four months and counting I believe, or vast technical know how related to blogging, Google is a friend y’all.

Where does my experience come from and my sites modest level of following? And yes it is a modest level believe it or not. It comes from pouring my heart out to y’all, researching various ways a blog works, and using my 11 years of marketing analytical skills, my eduction, and my gut instinct. But most of all, I use my love of people. If you want to increase views to your site, love people. Just love ’em and be honest in your writing. You don’t need to read any further. If you are really into making some quick success of things then read on, but if you want to make it easier and more relaxed . . . love ’em.

 #1

Don’t content your viewers to death! (or yourself)

I’ve learned this one through my own personal experience. In the early going  of your blog (if you are out to generate traffic/views/people visiting your site) you need to put out a bit more content. Then settle down. Work on a good piece and put it out. And then sit on it.

How often you put out content/articles/posts depends entirely on the purpose of your blog and your own need at the moment.  If you are wanting to develop a loyal reader following, give them quality pieces and give them a chance to read them, react to them, and you a chance to respond to those who comment. You may write a magnificent article or poem but it gets buried in all of your content. I’ve done it! This is something I have recently become passionate about. I get an idea, I write, and hit publish. I can’t help myself. Write a great piece and run with it for a few days then publish another great piece.

Putting out your great pieces slowly, even if you have five prepared will keep you from burning out.

#2

Pay attention to what what viewers are clicking and liking.

I have to admit this is not one I do very often in regards to determining what I write. I do notice and in speaking with blog friends I’ll comment on it. But I write what I write. But if you are wanting to specifically bring in followers and viewers, write what they like. You think that’s an easy one, right? You would think that’s one we all should realize. We don’t. One thing about this, if you’re trying too hard to write for the readers, the readers can tell, and it begins to sound fake, and becomes a turn off.

My content is me. Why that appeals to some people, I have no idea. People in person don’t find me appealing. (That may have sounded a bit wrong there . . .  or maybe it sounded right.)

#3

Scheduling for the right time of day.

I believe I have mentioned this in other articles but I’ll repeat it because it saves you time. Americans are the biggest blog viewers around. I’m an American blogger. When I write, I write for the whole world in that I write on universal topics. When I schedule my articles to go out I take three things into consideration.

  1. What is my regional target?
  2. What age group am I targeting with the article?
  3. When will they be at work?

If your blog is geared toward, or article is specific to one region/area/country of the world then you need to consider what age group your largest amount of readers are in because of when they will be available to read the articles.

Being an American blogger I schedule my articles to publish normally around 9AM NYCT or Noon NYCT. Why? People primarily check blogs when they get to work and have settled in or they read them at lunch time. What about the rest of the USA or the world? The eastern seaboard has a massive readership. Leave your blog alone for a few days and everyone will get a chance to see it. Publish at lunch NYCT and you might be able to get lunch time eastern/NYCT and morning time in the western time  zones in the USA.

That being said I also publish according to the time zone for Britain. Why? I love British bloggers and want them to see my articles. That’s a five hour difference and that may hurt my views but sometimes I don’t really care. I just like to have fun with it. I reflex and schedule at certain times, but if I do think about it I change it up to Britain and sometimes Australia.

And that is a few ways to increase your views. If you’re having fun, it comes through in your work and people will have fun with you.

For the first 3 Ways to Increase Views and Make Your Life Easier.

Ronovan Writes Weekly Wordless Haiku Challenge #7

Wordless Haiku ChallengeI first want to thank DazzlingWhimsy for creating this badge for the challenge.

Welcome to the Weekly Wordless Haiku Challenge #7.

The rules are simple: For how to write a Haiku in English and using the 5/7/5 syllable pattern click here.

No words or numbers of any kind can appear in the images you use. This includes sign language . . . of any kind.

Moon Shadow of a Woman Tango DancersHeartbeat Stumbling Sign Man Falling Men Going in a BuildingHands in Shape of Heart Two arms with infinity tattoos

This is an example of one I created last week.

The Haiku was:

Moon Shadow Dancers

Heartbeats Stumble, falling in

Love Infinity

I know, not the best but it was better then the first one I posted.

Here’s the challenge; You created your own wordless Haiku for Wednesday or any day really, then either post a link in the comments here for everyone that visits to go see and/or ping back (or copy the URL for this post into your Haiku post) to this post in your Haiku post.

I will read it and comment on it. Once I comment come get the badge.

If some of you would like a theme to prompt you what to begin thinking of you can perhaps use. . .

Up & Down

What do the words mean to you, and how can you connect the two words through that second line? You do not have to do the prompt, it is just a prompt to make you start thinking of things.

#7

Welcome to this weeks Haiku prompt challenge.

(Not the Wordless with Pictures. That one is out at 9:30.)

If you want to refresh yourselves on a bit of Haiku in English, although you do not have to stick to that particular style of Haiku, it’s just my particular style to use, click here.

For Tips and Guidelines refreshers click here.

This weeks two words to use in some form, meaning you can use another word that means the same thing are:

 Before you start!

I have a link that will help you out. Remember for Haiku in English the total syllables are 5 for the first line, 7 for the second, and 5 for the last. This the Haiku I use. I don’t really hold people to that for this but if you want to do it in the 5/7/5 manner, the traditional way, then try that. The link I have for you is . . . howmanysyllables.com. Simply type in the word and find out how many syllables it has. Also for synonyms and antonyms go to thesaurus.com.

The prompts!

Pain & Peace

Here is my example just to give you something to spark the thoughts if need be.

Pain filled his still eyes,

As the light was blocked away,

Peace finally came.

Be sure to put a link to your Haiku in the comments below so we can all go check them out. I’ll comment and also choose the ones that knock me down for one reason or the other and link back to them in my Weekly Rewind telling people how great they were and why I picked them. Eventually these will turn into categories.

Much respect
